He got every word right!
Just kidding.
Honestly though baseball is definitely his best sport. He has so many great calls that most of his top calls from every sport come from baseball.
He may stumble every so often, but we are so spoiled. Most LSU fans that complain haven't heard some other play-by-play guys at other schools. Here's to a legend and many more years at the mike for ol' Jim!

I personally love Jim. Living here in North MS and listening to Ole Miss, MSU, or BAMA games makes you realize how much you miss 'em. To Jim!

+1. Only one's I've heard that have been better were Fife (Auburn) and Munson (UGA).

I had to leave and go to Shreveport toward the end of the game. I almost run off the road when I heard JH's voice on the radio, "Swung on and hit to right field. That's way back there, way back there. Home Run! Tigers Win Tigers Win!It's a two-run homer and the Tigers are the National Champions! I don't believe it!"

I agree about the Ole Miss statement. That crew SUCKS. So does Memphis' play by play guy. Hawthorne certainly has his flaws, but he is better than a lot of guys out there, even in the SEC. And, no matter what, no one can question his loyalty and love for LSU.

Jim’s best call? That’s hard to chose.
But it’s even harder to remember his last correct call.

The worst HAS to be the Bama crew. The play-by-play guy is not so annoying, but it's the other homers in the booth, especially the "guest" analyst and the goober on the field. I swear I heard banjo music in the background during the Auburn game

Hawthorne is by far the best PBP guy in the game. I have heard guys from different teams on yahoo radio and JH is the best. If he only know the names of the guys on the team or number of men on base or anything... but I have to admit in the heat of the game.. wtf would come out of my mouth.

The sight of Hawpe's two 3-run HRs against USC was worth the entire 10-day trip.
