Just got my renewal and LSU split the conference and non conference games. Last year my total cost was $300. This year it's $300 for just conference and $12 per ticket for every non conference game. That's $684 total. WTF? I know no one cares it's softball.

Over double the cost. I would hope so. Hopefully they don't do it to other sports

You know nothing about NIL and it shows.

No one has any idea.
I can't quite put my finger on the reason.
Looks like it'll remain a mystery.

NIL is why college sports have been watered down and one of the reasons why everything in LSU sports is so over priced. It all trickles down and now every sport will increase in cost.

Seems like a great way to ensure nobody buys tickets to non conference games.

Well, lots of downvotes, but schools are not allowed to pay NIL, so raising the price of tickets does not mean we are going to spend more money in NIL.

At this point, you have to just let them believe whatever the hell they want to believe. The phrase, "you can't fix stupid," is 100% accurate.

They probably also think NIL is reason their milk is more expensive, vehicles, insurance, gas, etc. They will believe what they want to believe, and there is no changing that will logic and reasoning.

Over double the cost seems pretty crazy. Don’t renew. Seems like an easy choice

it has nothing to do with NIL
it's the upcoming revenue sharing of an additional $20 million schools will have to come up with to compete

that means extra ticket revenue and everything will be going up - it's the cost of business

might as well call it a college athletics tax

would not be shocked if they tack on a fee for students down the line

breaking up ticket packages like that makes me wonder if this is a way to not have to get LSU board approval because technically you are not increasing season ticket prices, all you are doing is selling different games at different prices like they implemented for football

So you have to buy tickets for all non-conference games or is that an option? So you would pay same $300 but ONLY for SEC games?

it's not "NIL", but next year schools will begin sharing revenue with players.

football alone will be somewhere in the $20mil range.

LSU athletics does not turn anywhere remotely close to $20 mil in profits per year.
so they will have to cut spending and increase money coming in to meet that.
