We must have a few easy “tells” on offense that show run by scouting formations motions etc. something is way off.

Our OC is a Quarterback coach and is obviously struggling to get creative with the run game, then abandoning it altogether.

I’ve seen us try inside zone, outside zone, counter, but no power. Maybe we are a power team???

Bottom line is they need to self scout and see how these runs are getting blown up. Figure out what this line and backs are capable of running then get to the basics and simplify.

Basically, BK has some work to do.

This was my guess earlier. Last night a ton of back side reach blocks were missed as the DL stunted inside. And that DL made the tackle for no gain, etc.

So either the side the RB lines up is a tell that we are running the other way, or something or someone is lined up in a way that indicates what the play is.

Brad Davis is extremely over rated

It’s not hard to see what’s wrong with the run game. We don’t get push. When you don’t get first level push, you can’t get to the 2nd level. When you can’t get to the backers, they’re free to flow to the ball. When the backers are free to flow to the ball, you’re going to struggle running.

Its called we run the same 2 running plays in the RZ up the middle. The C/G combo CHESTER/Frazier are weak spots and it usually loses yards. Then obvious pass down.
The OL is soft and gets no push. The 2 OTs had multiple false starts/penalties. Does Brad Davis actually coach them or just lets them play? Been that way all year on run blocking.

It's called 2nd down.

Most predictable offensive gameplan of all time last night.

Simply terrible.

Yes. They do.

Sloan is predictable... he pass on 1st down then run on 2nd down. And most runs are usually indicated by the slot (TE or WR) motioning in to help block which usually just brings another defender in. Go back and look at the YouTube condensed games. You'll notice the pattern of pass 1st down, run 2nd down, 3rd and long.

Also, every "hurry up" play is a inside run play. Our weakest linemen are the interior and we continue to try to run behind them. No Bueno!

Also, even though it's not saying much, playing the back up guard mobenga tonight after the injury effected alot of pass rush tonight (and running game).

Lastly, Nuss don't make the ends and safeties play gap assignment because he isn't a threat to run..at all. It is a reason why he's ran 2 times this year and both times he's picked up HUGE gains. He will not run the ball and they do not game plan for it nor respect it. Yes, the run game is running into a wall. But it's due to them not respecting nuss as a runner and just crashing down on the line. There's plenty of wide open back side lanes for nuss to run. He chooses not to.

Their run game is their quick passing game.

Man, I hope we have open comp at center in the offseason, and Frazier going pro is addition by subtraction

Y’all might be onto something with the 2nd down run call. I’d love to see the percentage run on that down in the 1st/2nd Q

The center is key to any run game and to put it mildly, our center is a huge liability in the run game.

It’s the playcalling that puts his OL at a disadvantage

I’m not a fan of the TE being such an integral part of the run game. We should have the ability to run the ball without a missed block by the TE blowing the whole thing up. Green and Taylor got beat inside all night by dudes who are clearly bigger and stronger than them. If Kelly wants the TE to be a key piece of the blocking scheme then he needs to fricking recruit guys from the Midwest. Quit getting pass catchers to do dirty work inside.

Have an upvote. My thoughts exactly. Sloan has zero imagination. Why doesn't he look at film of a good running team like the 49ers and incorporate a few imaginative running plays into the offense?

And where are the screen passes to Durham? Passes to Taylor and Green over the middle? Why can't he teach Nuss to read an rpo and keep it according to his reads. Nuss just hands the back the ball 100% of the time, what a joke.

I said this last night. They have a tell most of the time when they run it.

Nuss leans forward every time they run the ball. The offensive line does somewhat to.

Even at the 6 inch line the OL got no push...the guys behind Nuss had to push him in.
The Team looks overall smaller and weaker than its opponents in the majority of SEC Games.

is having two running plays considered creative these days because we only have one, and it couldn't be less creative. We run an RPO running /passing game without a QB that will pull it like Reed. It is as stupid a running game as there is in college football.
ZERO
Go back to an I formation with a fullback on occasion with a QB under center, or is that being 'too creative' for these coaches.

Extremely and whoever designs our running offense knows little about Oline blocking . zero holes for the best back in the nation to run through.

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what casual fans watching the game can. Our runs are predictable based on the formation, motion, personnel and unfortunately, the situation. Incompletion on 1st, predictable inside run on 2nd. When we get goal to go it's pretty obvious when we're running. The 2 sneaks for example. Everyone in the stadium and on TV knew what was happening.
At that point it's man up time. That's our big problem. Our OL isn't capable of manning up. They're pass protectors and that's it. Weren't even good at that last night. 1st rounders my arse. Weak class if so.

It's not hard to figure it out. We miss a pass on first down then it a run on 2nd down. It doesn't take a coach to figure that out. Sloan is not a coordinator
