Bunkie at Jena will be a good one.

Should be quick.
Acadiana has set some passing records this year. Their offense is more diverse than ever, or it has been in recent weeks.
For those outside the area:
Caden DiBetta is the QB. His brother 2027 Collin has been on fire. Has an Ole Miss offer. And 2025 Russell Babineaux (Cajuns commit) had a huge receiving effort recently as well.
Southside isn't going to throw it much. Both their QBs Cruz Holden and Parker Dies rushed for TDs last week. They have two strong RBs in Ramon Singleton and Justin Williams and a good SB/WB in Ashton Labit.

The sons of one of the best players in Chalmette history, Gareth DiBetta, district MVP on defense one year and offense the next

Plain Dealing forfeits to Jonesboro-Hodge… people are starting the conversation about adding 8 man football for our smallest schools.

Clean, who do you think is going come out on top out of the St.Ed's/Pointe Coupee Catholic game?

ASH/Ruston should be a good one

I posted this in the other thread, but it was pretty much done at that point.
Bunkie at 23? Do you really think they are the top team in D3 Select?

I like St. Edmund, simply because I know more about them and I believe CHSPC has some injuries.
St. Edmund is in the newspaper's coverage area. The Hornets are outside of the area. Their coach, Jacob Carruth, is a rising star. He'll be in Class 5A before long and then up from there if he wants.
I've written a few articles lately on St. Edmund for the Advocate. Crazy-good offense.

Not necessarily.
This is how I decided on the top 25.
I went down the list I submitted for this week's polls for Louisiana Sportsline and Bunkie was the highest ranked Class 3A team behind University. I had already included everyone other than Jesuit and Byrd in 5A and everyone in 4A that I felt deserved a spot.
I didn't make it to Class 2A or Dunham would've made the cut.
Same for VC.

Morgan city will lose like 44-12. They are just awful. They would have trouble beating a mid level 1A team.

quote:Probably not, all but 29 players for Jena have the flu, plus Jena’s defense is suspect this year. Dillon Compton and Kyle Johnson will be hard to stop.

Plain Dealing is the smallest football playing public school in the state. They are a Class C school with 80 students trying to play football.
I don’t know if 8-man is the answer for them. The article stated they played some games this season with only 16 players dressed, and that included some 7th and 8th graders.

I heard that PCC has a bit more players playing both ways, which should work in SE's favor since Shriver has the kid's conditioned in good shape & playing fast. One thing about SE too that impresses me, are the receivers. They're fast and make plays grabbing the ball.
