I like the Olight Baton. I use it as a cap light and use it for thermal hunting, getting into my blind in the am. I use it more than anything but have 3 other stream lights that work well also but those are handhelds.

I've had good experiences with Sofirn. Had one that took batteries, my new one has USB C port for charging. The one I have now is a C8L. I think it's pretty highly rated.

I like Fenix. Of all mine I grab the PD series the most. I think mine is a PD36R pro maybe? It is the one that is rechargeable. I've never owned a bad Fenix and I've thrown mine in the pool to test the waterproof capabilities with no issue.

I tried an Olight brand once. It worked fine but it felt cheaper than the Fenix to me but to be fair it was one of the very small Olights so it wasn't apples to apples.

But there is 50 other brands that I'm sure all make good "higher end" lights.

I have 3 of these. They’re great. Keep one in my truck, work backpack and hunting backpack.

I have never heard of Sofirn. Have rechargeables become more dependable. One of my limitations is long hints out west.....

Bought my last one (with the charging case, like Rize’s pic) on Amazon.

I’ll eventually buy 1 or 2 more because I’m always looking for it

I keep mine in my hunting pack but need it frequently in other places like truck etc.

Charging case makes it a game changer. It’s always full charge and charges like head phones.

HP16R. It’s pretty much perfect for hunting. Rechargeable, but can operate on 4 AA’s if needed. Gets really bright, but dims down low, and has a red light. The only thing I wish it had was a little brighter red light for walking in and out, but it’s sufficient for getting set up.

Headlamp: Blackdiamond Spot R

Handheld: theres a few. I carry a Sofirn SC21 Pro daily. While hunting I've got either a Sofirn SC31 or SP36 in my pack for blood trailing.

I have 5 or 6 of them. They're well built. The only one I dont like is a cheap lantern from them that uses some funky operating system instead of Anduril like the others.

The rechargeable one is newer to me so I only use it for 1 year. Search the model on YouTube, I think it comes in #1 in many reviews. My previous Sofirn was maybe 10 years old.

I have a bunch of Sofirn stuff like probably 20 different lights and only had problems with one small keychain light. They are good to go for cheap lights.

I wouldn’t get a light that runs on alkalines, they just don’t perform as well as lithiums. Get lights 5000k and lower temp with high CRI if you are using for blood trailing. The reason you might pay up from a sofirn is the more expensive lights use better drivers that make them more efficient and cooler at higher outputs.

If I use something other than Sofirn, basically anything killzone flashlights sells is good stuff. I also have some zebralights and Nitecore lights that I like.

My Favorite Headlamps:
Acebeam h30 - long duration & high output with 21700 battery
Sofirn D25L or LR if you need red - cheap, simple, and reliable with 18650 battery
Nitecore nu25-light and simple
Fenix hm50- light and simple with replaceable cr123

Handhelds-
I have several Sofirn IF25As with a 4000k tint stashed around that work well for me in 21700 form factor. I have some others but I don’t really use them. 21700 light with a nice LED works great for me.
