the band's unis are classic.. some of the best around. Also, I like the fact that the gold actually is pretty true to LSU's real gold, not this bright yellow that it has become.

know this is late, but I was a freshman in 1994 and they had those uniforms, so that's approaching at least 15 years. I like the traditional look, but they are starting to look a little worn out imo.

They look like crap, while watching UT and OSU tonight, it made me think how poor our band uni's are. Those polyester things gotta go.

How about something with "tiger" skin on them?

Former Tiger Band Quartermaster here from 1980-82. I designed the "Blue Devils" style uniforms TB wore from 83-?. The current design is an off shoot of that with a different Shako (Hat) style and a few changes to the jacket front.

I'd make a few "modifications" to the current uniform, but keep the basic "Blue Devils" design. Love that classic uniform.

I'd like to see a change to traditional LSU Athletic colors, basically wearing the same colors as the football team. (White jackets and the Canary Yellow pants) OR at least change the color of the pants to a dark Royal Purple instead of that old military dark Navy blue and change the jackets to the traditional LSU Canary Yellow, instead of that wierd orange/gold hybrid color.

Get that funky "Grambling" style design off the front of the jackets and add the newer and much bigger "Colts" style plumes in the Canary Yellow.

Way past time to retire the Navy Blue and Orange/Gold colors...........

every time i look at the UT band, i get nauseated at those ridicilous looking uniforms....they look like something out of a bad 1940's B western....

OSU does look silly with the berets, but their ROTC style hat with the plume isn't bad....

I don't remember the exact quote of the Fox announcer when they were talking about the battle of the bands between UTw and tOSU but it was something along the lines of "UT wins that hands down. They look like they were just loaded into Wallyworld". lol

btw, all band uniforms are polyester or wool. guess which one would be impossible at LSU.

Both materials suck in a Louisiana summer/early fall climate.

Having been a member of Tiger Band when we had the old style uniforms with the overlays and crossbelts as well as the original newer style jackets, I preferred the newer ones. The old ones were quite cumbersome and much hotter. Of course, the newer uniforms changed since then when we had a ruffled dickey and cumberbund to now of just a solid closed jacket.

BTW, I like the Texas uniforms as those were very similar to the style that we wore at Southwood High School back in the 1970's.
