Don’t have a video or link bc it’s happening live on sec network…

Man he is a freaking animal. 18 tackles!! He was just showing how he is a natural
Linebacker, play recognition, ability to shed blocks and still be in position etc.

We got ourselves a good one baws

Weeks impressed me with his bull rush of the right tackle on the last play of regulation. Weeks just manhandled that poor SOB to get to Dart. Unbelievable play.

That play was a strong sign of our conditioning program.
That late in the game a lot of players slow down but Weeks was still full throttle. He has a motor!

Lester says Roman Harper doesn’t know ball. Lester says Weeks is mid.

If you looked at social media following the game several former LSU defensive players were giving Weeks compliments.

He was easily the most instinctive LB last year and flashed in the games. Why he didn't play more for an otherwise awful defense is still a question. It seems to be a bit of a blind spot for Kelly in that he can be slow to fully incorporate guys who are clearly making plays.

In year 1 Perkins was flashing early on, but it wasn't until the 2nd quarter of the Ole Miss game (7th game of the season) when LSU fell behind that the fully incorporated him into the defense. Last season, besides Weeks, it was the same thing with Swinson. When he played it was easy to see he was the best pass rusher. Yet, he remained in backup role all season for a horrible defense. He was a backup, yet had more TFLs (6.5) than every DL besides Jefferson (7.0). He also had essentially the same amount of sacks as the DL starters, to go along with 5 passes defended...as much as anyone besides Zy Alexander. He was clearly the most disruptive DE...yet he played about 1/2 the snaps.

It was HPJr. He physically abused him. Clearly, he knew he was stronger and had the leverage to just push straight through. Honestly, it’s a microcosm of how he plays. Smart, quick recognition, and physical.

Yes, the athleticism and ceiling were always apparent in my view. But he had some issues being where he was supposed to be and missing assignments, even as late as the South Carolina game....one of the big TD runs was partly on him.

But with experience and playing more and getting some help from Penn on the assignment end, he's got that down much better and is utilizing that natural athletic talent much more efficiently.

There was a play where Shand blew up the RB trying to block him. I mean the dude got straight up launched from his feet. I was kinda funny lol. Unfortunately it was a play where Dart took off running so it didn't result in a loss

That RB had a rough time pass blocking. I think Burns ran over him to sack Dart as well.

eta: What's wild is that Weeks was a 3 star until his All-American bowl camp and game performance. Still ended up solidly 4 star when he has 5 star talent.

It was the RB and I think the knock he picked up on the play kept him out for OT.

You don't have to have elite physical gifts if you're always in the right place.
