For those who have gotten a new roof after storm damage. What was your insurance deductible?

Looks like ours is around $3600. Is this around the average?

I dont know about the deductible, but if you're looking for a good roofer in BR, the OT seems to be a good place to start

Wind and hail deductaibles are all over the place, some are still a set amount but most are now a % of insured value, but all are high as hell , but consult your insurance policy /call your insurance agent if you are not sure

Call Bubba. He has low overhead and won’t rip you off like the big companies.

He will also move your possessions for cheap. Great guy.

Just depends on your policy and if damage was from wind and hail or a named storm. I’ve seen many at $1000. I’ve seen $23000.

By the way, if a roofer offers to lower your deductible in any way, it’s insurance fraud

I mean your deductible should be what you pick from your insurer. Would say most people pick 1, 2, 5K or 1% of dwelling

Don’t forget Garcia. He’ll do your roof right after he’s done with your wife.

Most people are either 1 or 2% deductible which varies on the value of the home. It depends what you choose with your provider when it comes that time of year. Less and less people are getting 1k flat rate deductibles these days it seems.

ehhhhhh...maybe not 100%. Plenty of contractors know how to get a higher rate for repairs needed. For example...your insurance said it will cost 10K to repair your roof but the roofers may be able to get that increased to 15K and getting you more money to make necessary repairs and effectively reducing the % of your original payment less deductible.
