You have no idea what you're talking about. The young clergy coming up are more conservative than ever.
Now, as for Catholics voting for Trump, I'm not surprised given how anti-Catholic Harris is.

This is false. The clergy is overwhelmingly conservative, particularly the younger priests, but you tend to only hear the politics of the very few liberal priests and bishops, because that is the type of content which gets clicks, views, and stirs up negative discord.

A lot of it depends on how devout the person is.

IMHO there's no option to either sit this one out or vote Harris, because, all that's needed for Evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.
But, I am persuaded by the recent article posted here that many non-Catholic "Evangelicals" will sit this one out and not vote for POTUS at all. This will help Harris win.

This goes way back, if you have a prominent Catholic bishop that pushes liberalization of the Church, the media will adore you. The biggest example was Cardinal Joseph Bernardin (former NCCB prez and Archbishop of Chicago), who never met a liberal Catholic he didn't give a pass to (not to mention helped wreck the U.S. Church to which it still hasn't really recovered):
Best part about the Time cover story, all of that work by the NCCB was a moot point with the collapse of the USSR/Warsaw Pact justa few years later.

It’s true, but the Church is attacking it’s own in this regard. These conservative young priests are catching hell. There will be no Latin Mass soon enough for example. The Church is trying to purge traditional priests and leaders.
