Do you live close to your in laws and cut their grass and cook meals for them?

Does anyone live with their in laws?
I cook for my in laws but they live a few miles away and I’ll do little chores to help them out but they are able bodied and they love to do yard work
But they also cook for us as well as my parents. Huge respect for both sets of grand parents
I do cook and cut my disabled neighbors yard and always send him food since he lives alone and can’t really get around unless it’s an Uber or Lyft. He can’t drive bc his diabetes is so bad he’s had like 5 toes amputated

My in-laws are close. Mother in law cooks a lot and invites us over or offers leftovers. We don’t cook as much, but occasionally ask them over. I do cut grass and get on ladders for them from time to time. Take care of the elderly baw.

That’s the way it should be

My wife's parents are both passed on. Her sister lives in California and her half brother lives close but I don't let him come over much because he only wants money. Heck, I won't even take the guy fishing on my boat or let him step foot into my woodworking shop. Because all he does is Google my shite and say "damn that machine costs $5000. Must be nice."

My wife cooks for my dad relatively often. Only my MIL is still with us, but she lives 6 hrs away.

My mother in law lives about a mile away so I cut her grass a good bit. She is always feeding us or dogsitting when we go out of town so its the least I can do. I weedeat for the old guy across the street from me and mow for the old lady next door. The lady next door has a beer fridge on her back porch that I'm welcome to raid any time. The ole man lets me know when my wife drives on the grass. It's a pretty good deal.

The fiance’s parents live two streets over. So we often take them dinner and the fiancé pays for our lawn guy to cut theirs.
We tried doing some things for my Dad but he’s a raging a-hole and nothing is ever good enough. So we stopped. We routinely do things for my maternal grandmother.

My mother is an incredible cook and will make several meals a day 5-6 days a week. She will cook enough meals to feed my family of 4, my sister family of 5, then send my son a ton of food to him at LSU. My grandmother was ran a professional catering company and left my mom with all her recipes
My inlaws are from acadiana and just have it in their blood
My dad is Italian so it just comes natural for him

For the past 25 years we’ve lived very close to my in-laws and they have helped us tremendously over the years with meals, done home renovations, child care, grand parents taxi service, etc.
we’ve helped them some as well, but they are getting old now so the tables are about to turn. I’m very happy to take of them now.

I don’t have any in-laws. I do have ex-In laws and they are the best people you’ll ever meet.
I don’t live close to them, but they’d do anything for me and I would for them as well.

I wish. My MIL just visited this weekend and made pancit and lumpia. I’m eating like a king tonight.

I love my parents very much, and would do anything for them if they needed it.
I’m also happy that I live far away from my parents and they don’t need anything (yet).

My in-laws live about 200 miles away, but my parents live about 6 miles down the road. My dad is super picky about his yard, so he takes care of that. As far as cooking goes, we usually eat at least one meal a week together. I’ll cook for all of us, my dad will cook for all of us, or we will go out to eat. Comes out pretty close to even, I’d say.

You seem like a swell guy. Maybe you should build a monument of yourself for your front yard.

My FIL is 74 and a modern day Macgyver. He wil never let me do anything for him. I’m not the most mechanically inclined guy so I lean on him a bunch and he has taught me plenty. Trade off is I do their taxes and cook plenty including leftover portions for them. Live about 20 min away.

Wife’s folks are close by. They dog sit for us when we’re out of town. We often cook for each other. They were out of town the past 10 days. We watered their plants and the Mrs left a lasagna in their fridge. Some cupcakes on the counter. They don’t have grass, xeriscaping. Great people, will be pushing 80 soon. He’s not allowed on ladders anymore so I do whatevers needed.
