I am not so sure. This is who he always has been. He doesn't see the field well and that is why he doesn't handle the blitz well. He always had a great arm and decent mobility but that does not work in the NFL if you can't read the field. Patrick Mahomes best trait is he sees the field extremely well. Can Rattler improve? Sure, but he has been playing football for a long time so it's less likely than someone with little experience

Yeah I don't think Derek Carr will ever be a great QB. He definitely sees the field better than Rattler. Derek Carr was one play away from the AFC championship game with the Raiders almost beating Joe Burrow the year he went to the Superbowl.
