What is TAF’s next major athletic project?

The juco right field bullpen we are building has me wondering when the program is going to move on to a major athletic project again.
The basketball arena is exciting, but we aren’t even paying for the arena
LSU has been more fortunate than a lot of other schools on the hook for insane buyouts. It sounds like TAF raises as much as it ever has these days too.
Just curious if there is any speculation to future athletic projects.

Track and field should’ve gotten new facilities built where the proposed new arena is going. This would have allowed for a new arena to be built next door to most of the training centers that compete in the venue.
There is a lot of dead space in Tiger Stadium that could be utilized, but we all know TAF doesn’t understand what that means.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they look to built a new athletics office.

I’ve read they want to build new track facilities, but river road is entirely too windy. The need to at least completely renovate Bernie Moore. The track program deserves so much better than what it has been dealt.
Hats off to the new swim coach for making the program competitive with the worst natatorium in the country, but there are so many thriving programs we have that need attention.

The amount of money they could’ve gained from having a state of the art indoor track center.

I have my complaints about Shaver, but our facilities are embarrassing compared to our main competition. He has kept us in contention despite the facilities problem.
Would love to go poach the Arkansas women’s coach and make him the director of our men and women’s. They are fantastic.

May be a dumb comment, but water is water right? Does the pool need fancier water to practice swim in?

Replacing the fan base.

There is no AC or heat in that building, it’s made of cinder blocks you can see through in many places. It’s full of mold. No room for stands to host major competitions, no room for proper locker rooms. It’s almost 40 years old and was built as a temporary structure

They’re tearing down the PIKE house and building an Esports arena.

Word is the track was supposed to move where the new arena is proposed at the golf course but got killed when LSU realized the quality of that real estate and cost that it would take to move the track

The new basketball arena

it should have happened a long time ago but given the pace of how college sports is evolving we shouldn’t be making huge capital investments in non revenue sports right now.

Engineers said the new track relocation would've cost almost triple what LSU had budgeted out. Swim & Dive would've gotten facilities nearby as well.
The track got resurfaced with the original beige and red lanes under the impression that they would get a new facility at some point. We probably would've had a purple track had it been explained that T&F would he getting shafted.
Also, from what I understand, the whole "Carl Maddox can't change because it's a hurricane shelter" thing does not matter anymore. We could've had a hydraulic track to host big indoor meets WEEKLY but LSU said no and now the cost for the desired indoor track has tripled since COVID.

Just know that the people in charge of TAF have premium game experiences available to them already. So the goal is to give as little to the common man for as much as the common man is willing to pay. Everything they do will be to maximize profit for little effort and investment. ie JUCO bullpens

I agree, but new venue would’ve created opportunities to host bigger events. Lose less money.

Our money should be spent on NIL.
