We got a Tonal 9 weeks ago - I can’t tell you how that has changed the course of life for my wife and me - I’d never believed I’m doing squats and deadlifts after not really lifting weights for 10+ years since kids - I had a long way to go but I feel like a new person now - combined this with fasting and have been a runner for years… but the Tonal has been an absolute game changer

I’ve always wondered about these and if it actually feels like you’re lifting weights. Thanks for posting.

One of my buddies got one. About 6 months into using it you can definitely tell he's put on some muscle. He's not jacked by any means but he looks and feels a lot better than he did before.

I have had mine for 2 years. It has helped me tremendously. If it crapped out tomorrow I would buy another one right away. I am currently not working out due to a back issue, but really looking foward to getting back at it.

I really like the stats they keep and display, keeps me motiviated to continue seeing results.

The site is glitching pretty bad for me...

What's the max weight/ resistance?

I enjoy going to the gym, but this would be nice accessibility for my kids.

60 bucks I think. All kinds of content, programs, yoga, HIIT, strength, endurance, etc.

Will it still track your stats and stuff if you don't want to pay the $60 for the programs.

Never considered Tonal due to not wanting to hang something on my wall, but I had previously looked into these magnetic resistance devices before getting my rack

The ones that interested me more were the Vitruvian and the Speediance Gym Monster. Those were more portable and took up a decently small footprint. I've even considered getting them to have at work for more variability, however they are very expensive and always a risk of abandoning their user support with subscriptions. Plus the Vitruvian has nothing you can pull from high.

I'm always interested to hear reviews of these things.

Monthly is like $55 I think so $158 total till you pay off the tonal

I weighed it on our end over month gym membership + personal trainer or some sort of structure like Orange Theory and also - zero commute times to gym - so basically the time I’d drive back and forth I’m already done

My older daughter is home schooled and she uses a personal trainer as it’s good social interaction for her - younger one goes to school so she does tonal
