Guy pulled over by possible fake cop in BR near airport.

Dude gets pulled over near the airport by an incel that claims he’s with the sheriffs office apparently. He’s wearing a T-shirt, no radio on his person, no dash cam. Doesn’t seem like a cop. Airport is EBRSO jurisdiction so no BRPD blue up there.

If I had to guess, he's probably employed with some LE agency and is probably off duty doing something he shouldn't be doing. Trying really hard to baffle someone w/bullshite.

The situation is overblown. I don't think it happened near the airport, just on the way to the airport based on the guys post. Also says on the hwy near west Baton Rouge; so probably coming off the basin bridge around Grosse Tete. So not EBRSO, probably Iberville Sheriff or WBRSO.

I had a friend whose older half-brother was on Alabama’s most wanted list for impersonating a federal agent. He’d pull people over and claim to be FBI and then extort them for cash.

Wish someone legit would enforce the left lane for passing only law. Maybe this idiot just had enough and had a mental break. Obviously we cant have vigilantes enforcing law though.

That’s a pretty bizarre interaction. He asks the cop if he’s being detained and the cop says “yes.” He asks to speak to a supervisor and the cop says “I am the supervisor.” The post says he asked the cop for his name and badge number and the cop just walked away.
One of the OP’s other comments says that after calling LSP he finally got confirmation that it was the Iberville Sheriff’s Office. It honestly doesn’t shock me. But it’s pretty Busch league - and potentially dangerous - for some dude out of uniform, with no visible badge or radio, in a (presumably) unmarked car, to be pulling people over on the interstate for traffic violations.
ETA: After some additional digging through the Reddit thread it sounds like it was a marked cruiser at least. Still seems like an odd interaction.
