The issue with this season is OSU should have been #1 to start the season in all the polls. They were the best team entering the season. They may not win the national title because we know teams get better/stall/get injured whatever the case may be.
But to have anyone else #1 in the polls to start this season was dumb. OSU returned 9 starters on defense and added Caleb Downs to a defense that was a top 3 unit. Returned 3/5 starters on the OL and added a guy who had started at center for Bama 2 years. Best 1-2 punch at running back in the country with Henderson/Judkins. Best WR talent in the country recruiting wise the last 5 years of anyone no debate. And added a veteran QB.
Oh and added one of the best play callers in CFB history as OC who gets to only scheme all week and have fun
Again, I'm in no way saying OSU is guaranteed to win the whole thing because that is just stupid to predict. But pre-season they should have been the top dog by a mile
