ive never used it. found some in my dads shop but the label is destroyed.
couple questions:

1.) will this stuff also kill st. augustine and bermuda?

2.) is it a contact killer like glyphosate, or does it stay active in the soil for a while?

I've only used MSMA on bermuda to kill off everything but the bermuda. Best if used when temperatures are in the 90's.

I would take this over the Home and Garden board.

i don't know about the st augustine as we don't have it, but it will kill most everything but zoysia and bermuda.

If you get it too strong, the grass will look dead but will come back in a week or two.

When I used it I would add a little dish soap to it.

Use Halsufuron Methyl instead. It's the active ingredient in Permit and Sedgehammer.

It's kind of expensive by the bottle. But the usage rates are ridiculously low. Like for heavy nutgrass infestations in agriculture settings (like food plots) I generally use 1/3 of an ounce per acre. If the nutgrass is really heavy (like 6-8" tall and matted) then I'll use half an ounce per acre.

For a 5000 sft lawn, you're talking about ONE GRAM of product will do the trick. Two grams would be a stiff rate.. Like weighing that stuff out on a drug scale.
