Losing to USC was rough, and the game against USCar was closer than most people expected, but I think both of those teams are better than they people thought.

How do you all feel about the season so far and your upcoming games?

This is not a troll; it's a genuine question.

We shouldn't have lost to USC and So. Carolina and UCLA didn't inspire much confidence. We just don't have the horses this year IMO that other SEC programs have.

Defense is better because of the coaching. Hopefully the run game will continue to improve.

The season will be defined by how we do against Ole Miss, Bama, OU, and ATM. Winning all 4 would be superb, winning 3 would be very good, 2 would be about what I expect, and only beating 1 would be very disappointing... lose all 4 and there will be a meltdown.

If you beat all 4 of those teams, you guys are getting the top seed in the playoffs.

I think you'll beat us and Ole Miss, lose to Bama, and flip a coin with OU.

Boring…

I’m not sure if it’s the NIL, transfer portal, or playoff system. I just have no interest to watch college outside of LSU. Even that I feel like I’m forcing myself to follow. If you want to be like the NFL, I’ll just watch the NFL.

OU has a stout defense and their run game is good from what I've seen... no QB play.

I haven't watched much ATM but the defense was good against ND. It sounds like Weigman was benched and you have a decent DT QB. That game will be tough in College Station. Stewart is a problem.

Ole Miss loaded up in the portal and Kiffin always has a high level offense. They just haven't played anyone yet so they're tough to gauge... luckily it's at home but I'm not very confident against them.

Bama looks stout to me. DT QBs always give us fits and I think Milroe might still be running against our secondary. Debuer is a solid HC and is using guys that were recruited and developed by Saban. It's TBD how well he does once his own guys are in the program, but Bama recruits itself. Despite it being at home, I don't feel good about that one either.

Interested how the talking heads have us 7 or 8 in SEC, almost as an after thought. We have played three P4 schools, two on the road. Mizzou & Ole Miss has played the Lighthouse of the Blind, Little Sisters of the Poor & Our Lady of the Lake & are in the top 10. Are we better today than we were vs. USC - HELL YES. Are we as good as we thought we were going to be - NO, but we are LSU fans, we drink the kool aid every year...that's what we do.

Its September. Ask your question at the end of October. We will know more about LSU & the rest of the SEC.

Still hopeful for the future but our defensive personnel is still so far from where it needs to be.

My subjective random grades below

Passing offense: B+/A-
Running offense: D
Passing defense: C+ (seeing improvement)
Running defense: D- (UCLA didnt pound it on us, but still bad overall)
Intangibles/penalties: C-

I have no idea what to expect against Ole Miss. It’s either gonna be a pleasant surprise or depressing blowout imo.

I think that Aggies haven't had a football season worth bragging about since long before I was born and this is not a troll.
