Any recommendations in Lubbock, TX? Group of 6 looking for cranes in the morning, and either geese or pheasants for an evening hunt.

Have used Tejas Waterfowl a couple times north of Lubbock in Abernathy. Only did crane hunts in the am though. Would recommend.

Level 7 Outdoors is out of Plainview just north of Lubbock. Good guys, originally from Cenla.

In Lubbock? Final descent.

Best crane outfit in Texas is dirty Texas outfitters in Colorado city, no one is better at killing cranes out that way.

I use Square Mile Outfitters. Cameron is a good dude and I’d highly recommend him. He’ll put you on some birds no doubt.

Derek McDaniels at Blackfoot Outdoors or Orin Lonadier with Sea to Sky.

Both good guys who run quality operations

I think I'm about to book with these guys. How is the lodging?

This late in the game I would be cautious booking with an outfitter. Maybe ask how many dates they have open to choose from. If they have multiple open dates, that’s a red flag to me.

The good ones are full by July, or sooner. If you are jumping in a cancellation at this point then I would say go.

Agreed, the 2 guides I went with the last couple of years weren’t even mentioned. Did well with both. But I’d get something booked, there’s plenty in the area already.

It’s an old shop that they fixed up inside. It’s totally fine for what it is. There isn’t much around there until you get to Lubbock. Had great hunts both times we used them.
