Spin off from the strike out thread.

Runner on second advancing to third, ground ball to shortstop, shortstop runs into the baserunner. Ump calls the Runner out for interference. I argued the Runner has a right to the basepath and should be safe.

OT ruling?

Wrong, unless the ball was touched before it got to the short stop the fielder has the right of way and the runner has to avoid them.

You’re wrong for arguing more than .5 seconds with a youth sports official.

I don't feel like you're setting a good example by arguing with the umpire to the point of getting thrown out of a little league game. Jesus.

If you got thrown out because of arguing this rule, you need to quit coaching.

Parents who get thrown out of games should have their picture posted in the local media and social media pages.

I umpired Pony League way back in the day - 70s - and there were dolt headed parents back then

As an umpire I can tell you 100% for a fact any fielder making a play on an initially batted ball or a deflection off the pitcher in their direction within a reach and step is fully entitled to field that ball wherever they are and the batter/runner or runner must go around. Interference can be physical, verbal or visual. Dead ball, runner out all other runners go back including any that may have scored. That clear it up for you? The rule is the same in baseball or fast pitch regardless of rule set.

If you're worried about the call, then you have a shocking lack of perspective on your role as a coach and a parent.

Ruling?: Ignorant, immature, and trashy

You’re dead wrong and you’re absolute scum for jumping on a guy making pennies so your kid can play a game. There’s a massive shortage of youth sports officials because of people like you. What you pieces of trash don’t realize is that you’re the source of all the issues. No one wants to do it anymore because it’s not worth dealing with idiots like you and then you’re left with a shortage of competent officials which is just going to make you more upset

What if you saw a basketball official call a shooting foul and count the bucket?

And the shot was an air ball.

Is that arguable?

In a youth game?

Sorry I don't see the merit in yelling at some high school kid or boomer volunteer over a call that can't and won't be changed.

Its not that serious. You tell the team "guys. this isn't the MLB/NBA. we are't going to get the correct call sometimes. Learn to live with it."
