This episode predicts all of the computer hacking bullshite happening today, illustrates it perfectly, long before "the internet" was "a thing".

I once heard a radio show from 1950 that predicted the internet

100% convinced Angela was a serial killer. No matter where that lady went people turned up dead. And her little hometown had the highest per capita murder rate in the world. How the FBI didn’t catch on is beyond me.

Never thought I’d see a thread on Murder She Wrote on Tiger Droppings.

I haven't seen the show in a while, so not sure if there's something obvious that addresses this, but I always wondered if those were real murders or the portrayal of her writing.

To the first post's point, there was a Rockford Files that showed something similar in regards to all the data starting to be stored on people. That episode had text at the end about needing to be able to maintain privacy and freedom. Seems interesting that people so passively accept it now.

It also guest stars the guy who played the EPA agent in Ghostbusters.

Advancing technology and its effect on society and man’s place in the cosmos is a leitmotif that runs through MSW. This is a great example, in large part because it’s the first time Jessica moves from her typewriter to a computer. That had been a running theme/gag through seasons 1-7.

Other great technology episodes are the virtual reality one, the driverless car (early, S1 episode), and the one where Higgins is the crazy toy inventor.

Actually just started binge watching the series on prime. Loved Columbo so natural progression. Better than a lot of the new series put out today

Google says that episode originally aired on 11/3/91. Ferris Bueller was hacking and committing computer fraud as far back as 1986.
