At a middle school football game. Both teams are 100 percent shotgun.

8 snaps so far have been dropped or over QB head. Several more the QBs have had to jump to catch it.

In 15 years, the under center snap will be as dead as the Wing-T…

Tell me it isn’t our middle schools running shotgun with a high school that runs Wing T

I blame Chalmette High’s coaches. Tucker should bring in every middle school coach for a coaching clinic. Give the coaches the basics of CHS offense and defense so the kids know it when they get to CHS

Is the Wing T dead? Thank God if so.

No, and that’s the problem. They should work together now that CHS is the only HS in the parish. The person who should lead that charge is Tucker. It would benefit CHS if the feeder schools knew the basics of CHS’s offense and defense.

You may not be familiar with the concept but it’s done in other places.

To be fair, we don’t have freshmen on varsity so they’re all probably running our offense on the freshmen team

Before that… Tucker’s been coaching since we’ve been in FEMA trailers lol… 97 career wins, the program is his. Half the middle school games are at CHS, I’m sure he knows the coaches.

Happened tonight in the 9th grade game I called. RB lost 3 yards. Just line up in the "I", 12 or 13 personnel, and run it down the throat of the defense in that situation.

Those are rookie numbers.

Our HS coach administers the pee wee league and all the teams run his offense and defense. Same for the middle school.

I can’t imagine any scenario where this wouldn’t be the case

Oh I 100 percent agree with you.

When I lived in Katy TX, that’s how it was done. The high schools worked very close together with their feeder pattern middle schools. The high school coaches worked with middle school coaches. The high school math teachers worked with middle school math teachers. The high school band director worked with the middle school band directors. Etc.

They used to use Brian Kelly’s favorite word: “alignment”

Lots of things in Da Parish could be better if everyone worked together and pulled in the same direction. But that’s not how we do things here,

They do… but I can promise you, Dutchtown is running it in 6th grade.

No the under center won't be dead. actually many RPO teams are mixing in under center. HUGE advantage of lack of ball visibility especially on counters.

shotgun in mS is just stupid.

many coaches try this but MS admins need to be all in... back in 88 local HS hc was bringing in the veer and top feeder balked... he approached me about being oc - met ms principal she was on board - brought in MS hc and they introduced me as new oc period..... he said no.. Madam principal said you are now just a ss teacher... I had a DC lined up from western pa(actually navy roomie). a random teacher was HC but actually just a cheer leader.. we mixed in veer and bone blocking techniques and fundamentals. 4 years later 16 of our kids were starters and made a deep playoff run, getting eliminated by the single player that gave us our only loss that year. It takes total community buy in... which is rare.

It makes sense to people like me because I just go to the high school games and want us to do well. I haven’t seen a middle school game in years so I don’t know what goes on there… I’m sure they want to win for their own reasons.

Honestly IMO it doesn’t count until high school because that was the first level which was in the actual sports section of the paper. Anything below that would be in like the Metairie or St Bernard Picayune with the rec league scores

I vividly remember my undefeated and only once scored on freshman year and our HC telling us.... NOBODY has trophies for freshman football or banners on the fence. Men our last championship was in in 1948....

you and several others from da parish are about the community and I greatly respect that

What if I told you more than one HS team in Louisiana still runs the Notre Dame Box?
