II wasn’t impressed with the stadium. First of all, horrible trash piped in music REALLY LOUD that the fans waved their towels too. Take the music out and it’s not loud. Their band didn’t play at all. They’ve got some obnoxious rooster crowing noise. Stadium announcer: AND THATS ANOTHER SOUTH CAROLINA…first down. If you think our concessions are slow and crappy…go there. It’ll make you appreciate ours. Same with bathroom lines.
Lastly…traffic was no better after the game than ours.
Sometimes you have to go see how others live to appreciate what you have.

Not the most aesthetic location. Didn’t even have sidewalks along roadway. The fans, especially the students stayed throughput

Is Columbia nice? I’ve heard it’s hot as hell there. Stadium looks like a dump

Everything you said is pretty much the antithesis of what I've heard from friends and family. All people I know who went said it was a great stadium atmosphere and a very fun game to attend. Also said post game traffic was a cake walk.

We had a great trip overall and really enjoyed the town and game day experience. The only issue was their concession set up in the upper deck on our side sucked arse! It was the most fricked up line situation I’ve ever seen.

It was raining on and off during the morning, but stopped by 9:30, and ended up being a nice day, cooler than I would have expected in mid-September.

USCe is intertwined with downtown Columbia, more so than LSU is with BR. So I ended up parking near their basketball arena, and taking a shuttle to the SC fairgrounds, where a lot of the tailgating was taking place, then walking to the stadium from there.

The Ole Miss PA announcer was extremely annoying last year with the “First Down OOOOLE MISS”

On the contrary, we did give him plenty to be excited about

What you heard was piped in music.
Fans for the most part were fine. They are into their towel waving. They were pumped. And why not stay, the game wasn’t decided till the final play.

Sandstorm is a big part of South Carolina fan culture now. It started with a win against the Black Bears, so I can't be too mad at them for it, they just might have overdone it a bit. But, all the complaints you hear about piped in music at Tiger Stadium apply at least equally to Williams-Brice Stadium, they drowned out both bands with non-Sandstorm music.

This. USCe is basically right on the edge of downtown Columbia. It's very similar to how UT is located just north of downtown Austin. The stadium is located in the fairgrounds area, which isn't the nicest, but the Cockabooses are cool. LSU borders a residential neighborhood to the south and the ghetto to the north. If a developer could manage to buy up all that land between the main campus and the river campus, it could be super nice.

I enjoyed Columbia. It’s nice to have downtown attached in a way to the stadium. We sat right behind the Tiger band so I couldn’t hear the SC band much. A lot of piped in music for sure. The mechanical rooster noise was ok. Not a Tiger roar mind you but if you’re a cock you’re a cock. What can one say.

The people are a nice looking group as a whole. Some of the women were beautiful. Nice scenery for sure. The fans were excited and pumped after beating KY but weren’t that upset about losing to us. They knew we had the better athletes. We played poorly and make plenty enough mistakes to lose but they made more mistakes and we squeezed by. I’d go back any year. Food was good.

Extremely. Incredibly friendly people.

Have you ever been to Baton Rouge in September, but yes it was hot during the game, but intermittent cloud cover and a nice breeze at times greatly helped.

It's very nice. Four of us sat comfortably in our seats as they were rather wide (looked to be about 18") with stadium-wide back rests, unlike Tiger Stadium where the seats are about 10" wide with no back rests. I thought they overdid the piped in music, though.

The city reminds me a lot of Baton Rouge. It's the state capital. The old part of campus (The Horsehoe) is beautiful. Some of the newer buildings are not so aesthetically pleasing. In that respect, it's a lot like LSU's campus.

stadium-wide back rests,

All of the seats have back rests? Are you sure? If so, that's pretty new. I went to a game there two years ago with a college buddy who is a USCe alum, and none of the seats in our section had back rests. Nobody does cramped seating like Tennessee. You can only fit one butt cheek in their seats.

Agree, I didn't think it is possible to have slower and worse concessions than TS... they win. There were out of everything except nachos and popcorn (how do you run out of hotdogs) in the lower level LSU section before halftime.

The traffic was worse than the 2017 Florida fiasco and apparently it is like that for every big game. It took us 2 hours to get to the interstate.

The piped in music sucks.

However the white towels are definitely less gay than pom-poms.

South Carolina fans are a strange bunch. I live in Charleston so I’m around them a lot. They basically root and expect 8-4 seasons, that is a good season. So they talk shite but it’s not really because they have no expectations.

The stadium is fine, we are used to tiger stadium….we are completely spoiled. They just yell Go Cocks. There was a 3rd down in the 4th Q where they are rotating between “Go” and “Cocks” cheers in the stadium…well that means 35,000 ppl at one point are quiet. That helped LSU’s communication.

Overall though, average spot for an average team. Columbia is fine, but if you chose to drive back to Charleston that’s the great road trip.

Columbia is a dump but the stadium is probably in the nicest part of town. The speakers were extremely obnoxious. If I ever go back I would bring ear plugs. SC fans were as rude as I’ve ever been around in the SEC. But the crowd was totally into the game and made it a good environment.

Disagree. I thought it was a great atmosphere. Sandstorm is awesome. Easy to get around outside the stadium and traffic was better than BR leaving. We were back home in Charlotte in less than 2 hours. Agree the limited concessions sucked.

The weren't chair backs, but a continuous aluminum back. Perhaps it's not stadium-wide but we had them in the nosebleed, so I assumed they were throughout the stadium.

I've heard this as well. Sounds miserable, but LSU's not too far behind.
