Kelly explained why he was yelling at Ramos at halftime after the botched field goal attempt. He said that he gave instructions to Ramos, then the referee told Ramos something else and he listened to the ref rather than Kelly. I would like to hear more details on that.

I don't know but once the ball is snapped the play has to be played. The clock is not a factor after the snap.

Pretty crazy the refs blew that call to begin with to allow us to kick.

looks like lsu rushed it and Ramos didn't appear ready to go even though they had enough time to get the kick off

Well then next time the special team coach will have them in position.

They were ready to go and then the ref checked the snapper and it looked like he told them to hold up. The left side of the line got out of their stance then the ref signaled ready for play and the line had to get set again,

Ignore the ref in that situation and you get flagged for illegal procedure.

I didn't understand why the offense didn't take the snap with 3 seconds left and down the ball. Clock stops and normal set up for the field goal.

Being at the game, it was clear they were working on getting the kicking team out there fast. Even when the original play was called OOB, the kicking team sprinted out there and got set quickly.

Kelly got mad because he clear as day told Ramos to be ready by the time the ref started winding the clock. Ramos, for whatever reason, was still doing his pre-kick prep steps when the ref blew the whistle to wind the clock. I could tell from my seats that he wasn't ready and was going to miss.

Cannot spike with 3 seconds or less; time expires. NCAA rule now. Only less Miles would have tried that like he did against Ole Miss with one second left and cost LSU the win. Still pissed about that idiotic move.

Wow, I did not know that. So Kelly did it perfectly. Remember how we used to pray for this kind of competence?

You can easily lose 3 seconds downing the ball.

Rewatched the game after being there in person

If you keep watching there is point the holder (Todd). Is near the BK, Ramos conversation. It looks as if Ramos is blaming someone else as Todd shakes his head and you can see he rolls his eyes Looks as everyone else knew the plan but the kicker

The refs told Ramos they would give him time to set, but the refs were not in the same page. When it’s snapped he only has 3 sec to kick. They basically told him let them know when he set and they will blow the whistle. That obviously didn’t happen.

That is EXACTLY what I saw. Even on TV. After getting the explanation from the official, BK told the team to line up before the official blue the whistle. He told the LS to snap the ball on the whistle. And he told Ramos to get ready to kick because the ball was going to be snapped on the whistle. Then, Ramos goes out there and is still taking his measuring steps sideways as the official is about to blow the whistle to start the clock.

Ultimately, Ramos was set for a second before the ball was snapped. But I think what set BK off is that Ramos wasn't out there and ready to go so as not to have to rush the after BK had just told him to him to get in position before the whistle was blown

The ref told him this I know for a fact from a friend….”your dumb coach should have told the offense to go spike the ball then you wouldn’t have to rush. But now you do kid. Good luck”

Yet this wont stop the ignorant fricktards on the rant from blaming everything on Kelly
