New home owner.
House came with a 22kW generac thankfully.

What can I do between now and the storm to prep? I’m in BTR.

Should I go get extra oil and filters?
Is there somewhere I can get this tomorrow?

TIA

Invite your neighbors without power to stay at your house.

Get an extra quart of oil and be sure it currently has the proper oil level.
Be sure the air filter is clean.
If propane, be sure you have enough for a week.

Here's one that some do not think of. Make sure you have spare fuses for it.

You can preschedule a Generac certified technician to come out and repair that thing because it’s a 50-50 shot if it decides to give up the ghost during the hurricane. A lot of people have success with them, but a lot have problems too. If you are trying to prepare, I would tell you to have oil and an oil filter handy because you’re likely to have to change those after running a few days

Extra oil and filters for sure. Run a loaded test now for an hour or so.

Where would I buy fuses and filters for these?

You don’t need fuses. You see where the fuse goes? Stick the largest piece of wire there and it will run.

Battery—check the battery. Do a test run to make sure it fires up

For now, open top, look on right side for the buttons and do a test. Take a picture of manufacturers plate as you will need the model and serial number.

Then download the owners manual, oil capacity is 1.9 quarts of a quality 10W30 full synthetic, get at least 2 spare quarts of oil, long neck funnel, add oil by capful, spare oil filter, 2 spare spark plugs.

Air or water-cooled?

Air's are a POS, water-cooled will outlast your MIL.

Air cooled.
And yeah it may be a POS, maybe not.
It came with the house so I’m not complaining.

In the morning, I plan to change the spark plugs and oil on mine. That’s about it.

I would take the time now to ensure the trickle charge for the battery is on the generator pole and not the Entergy pole.
