Yeah, but we can see the shitstorm that’s brewing.

1) this happens with every fan base, especially in the SEC; don't make this a uniquely LSU thing
2) many LSU fans need a nap right now
3) almost as annoying (if not equally so) as the "sky is falling" mentality is the pretentious/righteous/virtuous crowd calling out the doomsayers
4) there is no way to determine just how good, bad, or mediocre we are after 2 games - 1 of which was an FCS team
5) yes, I have concerns about how we will finish out the season

It's not that he's 1 -1 vs ranked opponents, he's actually 3-7 vs top 25 teams since he's been here.

I'll give him a couple more years though, we won the west his 1st year and had JD win a Heisman the next.

So you're upset there's a handful of posters who want Kelly fired? Probably like 0.5% of LSU fans want him fired. If you're letting them get you worked up, maybe this isn't the place for you.

Regardless of what some may want, he's not going anywhere for a long time so it's not even worth discussing.

Negatigers are a frustrating, group. Truly impossible to please. I will grant you that.

On the other hand, some folks are rightly concerned about the defense's lack of improvement over the entire BK era and the team's very poor performance against ranked teams. It is a valid complaint that extends back to Kelly's last couple of seasons at Notre Dame, even.

He is not a proven "big game" coach. I like that he is highly intelligent and has been described by a no less figure than Nick Saban as the "last" real football genius, just a year or two ago. I like what he did with Jayden Daniels.

But, without that stroke of luck, without that single player, just imagine where the program would be? Nuss is producing TD passes at a rate that will surpass Daniels if it keeps up and yet the team is 1-1 and looks awful. Struggled for almost 3 quarters against Nicholls. Self-destructed on the way to losing another season opener (that goes back 5 seasons and pre-dates Kelly).

The rushing offense is effectively non-existent. And without Jayden Daniels that is true of the entire Kelly era at LSU. Passing defense has been very poor and the defense, now with 3 pre-seasons of Kelly, is overall a very, very poor unit - on par with weak P5 and FCS defenses. (This is not hyperbole).

A wholesale change of the defensive coaching staff has not moved the needle, yet. The longer this goes on, the more it is on Kelly.

Surely you can see and admit that, right?

So, if you will concede that all of these concerns are valid and that the Negatigers wanting to fire the coach, at this point, knowing he will get 4, if not 5, full seasons before firing talks will begin in earnest, isn't helpful, then I will be there with you.

You pretending everything is fine, when everything is clearly not fine, makes you a CheeriKelly and then you deserve no credibility.

This is the rant sir. We are entitled to be miserable.

It's true. I do feel entitled to at least 1 season opening win in a 5 year stretch and being able to run the football all over FCS Nicholls State. I don't think it's a lot to give me. But certainly feel like I'm deserving.
