Our strength and conditioning seem to be lacking (a team like Nicholls should not be pushing up around), we don't play as a cohesive team (hence lack of running game and poor defensive play), too may weak spots with players that aren't that good (safety, running back etc.), lack of head coach knowing how prepared his team is at the beginning of the year (every year). At least recruiting is looking up, but these guys need to be inspired to play harder and as a team, not individuals looking to be stars making bank.

I had the same thought against USC. Under Miles, there was not a team that would push LSU around.

Our buffet for our football team is fit for a king. They ain’t lacking in nutrition so that ain’t why they are tired.

Kelly inherited a dumpster fire y’all. He just needs more time to get things sorted out.

How many carries and yards did Fournette have against Bama in 2015?

He said to judge him in year 3. It's year 3.

This team isn't anywhere close to being able to compete for a championship.

This board has some serious amnesia regarding those Miles teams

There was also this abomination of a game in 2014 which set LSU football back 30 years...
LINK

LSU 0 - (unranked) Arkansas 17

32 carries for 36 yards

You can judge a coach once he gets 3 off seasons to flip the roster and culture. And there are still Orgeron holdovers like Burns, Ryan, and Penn playing who have no business playing key roles. Plus the coaching staff somehow has ruined Harold Perkins. Culture, roster, development still very much a work in progress. I still think he gets 5-6 years with the guaranteed contract as long as we don’t miss a bowl one year, which would be grounds for immediate firing.

Unless you're in the CFP, bowl games mean little to nothing. If he goes six seasons without sniffing the playoffs, the natives will get very restless.

More like 7-8 years with that absurd contract.

Agreed. Who is the stud WR this year as well? Lacy is no where near the level of a Nabors, Chase, Jefferson. I know that’s a high bar but it’s not even close.

That's because there were 5 guys blocking an 8 man box, and Bama was the only team that could man up against LSU play for play.

You mean like not letting our offense cross half field?

If Kelly lost 17-0 to Arkansas, these same posters wishing we still had Les at HC would personally move Brian Kelly's belongs back to South Bend the very next day.

We lost to an unranked Arkansas and/or Ole Miss like clockwork nearly every year, not to mention being Bama's whipping boy for his final several meetings. It's comical.

All of what the op said may be true, but in the third year of your program with NIL there is absolutely no reason to be in this situation. It all falls on Kelly and his staff.

7-8 years is atrocious thought. inheriting a dumpster fire or not- he has never felt like a good fit.
