Good news is heaviest totals should stay closer to the coast. Central should be fine

What happened in 16 and why is this particular rain getting you into a tizzy?

Don't start to worry until we get 25 inches.

i agree 100%. the setup also isn’t anything like it was then.

and i’m not even suggesting it will approach that, just bad head movies for me.

Just for reference the Amite river stage at Denham crested at over 46 feet in '16. Currently it is predicted to get to 13.7. Since that only counts water on the ground at the time of the forecast it will get higher but there is a lot of room left before it hits minor flooding at 29ft.

At my house:
Emptied the rain gauge for the first time at 6”

Again in a few hours to get 12”. “Wow this is cool “

When it hit 18” I wasn’t enamored anymore. A little concerned

At 24” water across the whole yard and at doorsteps.

After 24”, mobilized and swam out. 30” in the house.

I don’t know how much they impacted things, but they sure as hell didn’t help the situation.

you can clearly see the other side already flooded..FFS, people that think this extra foot would have made a difference are mental..

I was one of ten houses almost downtown Denham that didnt flood..

We were neighbors then because I lived across the street from the houses that did not flood.
