same owners of the district in ponchy and son of a biscuit (do not RIP) in Hammond. The district is awesome and SOB was terrible. I assume same owners have the pink agave in BR. Anyway we hadn’t been there so we tried it today.

Kind of a try hard vibe inside but it’s fine, and different. We started with the ceviche which was…odd. Some kind of fake fish/krab thing along with chopped shrimp. It was ok, won’t order it again. Tortilla chips are excellent

I got three tacos, with charro beans and tortilla soup. Bride got an avocado/cilantro salad with grilled salmon. After the inauspicious start to the meal I was wary.

friends, the tacos were outstanding as were the two sides. Startlingly good. Way better than they had any need to be (this place is evidently as popular as a drinking place as a restaurant). I had chorizo, beef cheek and carnitas and I was making noises while I shoved them in my face.

The salad and salmon were likewise delicious

2/10 on the ceviche
9/10 on the salad
37/10 on the tacos

Definitely we will be back

I think so, it looks like it was an old bank vault. There were some girls taking pix in there

It's decent enough. It's overpriced and way too cheesy of a place for what you get. I was one and done.

The one in Covington is fine for a drink place if you're into that vibe, but the food and service are both awful.

Have you tried Tommy's Pizza since the re-open?

We went Friday and it was pretty good. Super packed but they kept us informed about the wait time.

I haven't tried Pink Agave yet.

a couple of weeks ago

-it’s much cleaner and pleasant
-service is friendlier
-menu is drastically reduced
-pizza was good enough

I hate to say it but I liked the old Tommy’s better . The things that made it different from generic chain pizza seem to be gone. It’s still not or ever was pizza you’d consider exceptional…but we liked the funk. If that makes sense.

the pizza situation in tangi continues to be woeful. Please please get NOLA Mia open and please please be good

Wish someone would just put a consistent place where either BnB used to be downtown or his old Pizza place too..

Looking forward to Benteaux, but nothing ever last in that space either

we loved pour house. Why the pizza is so dreadful at Milan’s now is a complete mystery

We’ve been to the new black and brew (old catfish charlies) once and weren’t really impressed. Need to go back

i just dont like to drink, then drive through Hammond, its not the most cop friendly city and i didnt grow up here, so it adds to it..I said it in the other post, walking to BnB was the biggest draw..Family has REALLY looked into starting a bar or something in that area again, but the last place went bust and Bennys and Crescent seem to have it on lock (neither are really our scene)

ETA: hope to head to GB at noon for that drop today

It was the best when it was still on N Morrison.
Weekends at my Dad's meant Tommy's or Hi-Ho.
Tommy's had the best lasagna that I ever had back then.

We tried it once and really liked it. Went back 3 weeks later and it was awful.

Commodore's has done something different also to their pizza. It used to be our #1 spot but now we don't order pizza much anymore.

Commodores > Tommy's

Pizza is the same but the service and pricing is superior by a lot

Focus on reopening the new BnB is my understanding..Looks like that took AD a good bit of time and money

BNB is a cool place and I liked the burgers well enough but if I had to pick between the two, I would go Pour House. I do like that Deadbeat opened by BNB. I'll be stopping in there from time to time.

BnB was literally across the street for me during Covid, so it was a no brainer..
