It's a bad look but i think they were thinking let him score to give us a slim chance at something on offense.

What about the play where he took out the qb and the rb?
What about swinson trying to throw their running back and instead of a loss it was a 7 yard gain?

The game was over at that point, who cares?

I honestly dk how to feel about perk.
Acting like he’s a scrub feels insane but it’s getting hard to continue to act like he’s elite.
But for all I know this is on the staff and how they use him.

Poor effort but USC RB looks like he was a good yard and a half out in front of him.
If we’re being honest Perkins hasn’t been elite since Arkansas 2 years ago. We can blame the coaching staff last season, and that’s fair, but some still falls on the players. Both Perkins and Campbell, were very disappointing last night.
Yes Perkins led team in Tackles with 8, and had a TFL, but it seemed very quiet to me. I honestly only remember him making 1 solid play the entire night.

I don’t think so.

Don't care. Game was over. Hated some of the effort earlier in the game, across the board, not going to pick on Perkins.

now post some where he was lined up in the middle
then send me a list of all the hall of fame edge rushers that lined up more at middle than edge.

Idk why everybody is ripping on Perk
He had a good game
Just because you don't hear his name every play doesn't mean he's not doing his job

100% not this.
You don’t say “let him score and let’s try and match it” with under 30 seconds left. Especially with a kicker that already missed a gimmie earlier.
No way was this a “we have a better chance of just letting them score and trying to take it down the field”

quit on the play
Wouldn't you after the coaches quit at half?

I honestly wouldn’t mind seeing him play some in the Star role instead of Burns and let Weeks play inside more. It might be easier to move him around as a blitzer from that spot.

Perkins hasn’t done shite since his first few games as a freshman. He’s fast. That’s about his only solid attribute. He’s a consistent non factor every time the team we play against knows he exists before the game starts. Tired of hearing his name apart from any other player on defense.

Did the same thing several other plays as well.

Could’ve sworn I heard a whistle on that play

Spot on.
He’s a non-factor in stopping the run. He’s too small and gives too little effort in taking on blockers. He can’t cover one-on-one. In zone coverage he just floats in his assigned area and is slow to react to the pass, regardless of where it goes on the field. If you put him on the edge, congrats, but he’s not big and strong enough to do anything other than speed rush and that can be schemed for to account for him.
This is the third year of fans blaming coaches for not “putting him in position” to be a difference maker. If he was truly a difference maker, he’d be making a difference somewhere, somehow.
This video shows the one thing that he controls completely, which is his effort, or lack thereof. He seldom plays all out and it’s so easy to see.
Much, much ado about very little when it comes to him being a defensive star.

We're having a hard time blocking him, and we have a pretty good offensive line," Kelly said.
SC had no issues blocking him, Brian!
