Main adjustments going forward

1. Play calling has to stop being so scared and conservative. Let Nuss throw the ball down field.
2. Woodland needs to start. He is quite simply better than Sage Ryan. I do not care that he is only 165 lbs, he is already and improvement from what we have had there.
3. OL needs to figure out the run blocking. There was little to no room for most of the night. They may simply be overrated in the run blocking aspect but that’s still no excuse to be averaging 3 yards per carry besides the one big run from Emery that made it 4. We also need an extra TE in to block when Jackson is on the field. He is a power back not an elusive one. He had 0 room to run when he was in the game last night.
4. Getting Hilton back will likely make the play calling more open to taking shots since he is our deep threat. He has to stay healthy for this offense to be more effecient. It also didn’t help that Parker came in and got injured after 1 catch (more unfortunate luck).
5. BK has to grow a pair of nuts and lay into his players for the dumb arse penalties that cost us potentially 10+ points last night.

I agree with pretty
much all of that.
I was too drunk to see if there were deep routes that Nuss wasn’t going after.
there was a completion to Taylor where you could see a wide open WR on a post deeper down field.
it was a good play but could have been a TD. not sure if we scored that play or not.
Also, throwing the ball deep will help the run game! Their safeties were making plays because they weren’t scared of the deep pass
much all of that.

Woodland was impressive even on his PI his coverage was good. I liked what I saw in a lot of ways last night and I actually think we played better than we did in both FSU games. The stupid arse penalties and bad play calling 100% cost us this very winnable game.

Let me add two:
- Defer to return in the second half
- QB sneak any 3rd and inches. If that doesn’t work, sneak it again… Never want to see a shotgun run in these situations again.

They need to show they're willing to have Nuss pull the ball and get some yards off the bootleg.
They also need to throw deep. Ive seen them doing it enough in practice.
Last night reminded me of the JJ years when teams put 9 in the box and shut LSU down.

100%. Also TAKE the points early in the game because you have no idea what the situation will be later.

Take points when available
Defer when winning the toss
Kelly’s run scheme is basic. Needs to add some creativity

1. Agree wholeheartedly...the playcalling on offense and to a lesser degree the defense got very scared and not to f up.
2. Agree with this along with Jordan Allen. Those guys balled out. After Allen, you can decide who the weaker crutch is between Burns and Ryan.
3. I thought USC was heavy in the box because we weren't making deep passes and very little real play action...This will open in time...but Kaleb is too slow. Josh and John did fairly well for running against 8 in the box most of the night.
4. Hilton wasn't the issue...Check down Nuss was. Nuss overall played great but he needs to look downfield more instead of going for the easy completion.
5. This...but he also needs to get in his OC/DCs arse too about the playcalling...he's going to have to have a more active role.
I don't blame Kelly for the loss cause it was predominantly a play-calling loss and he doesn't call the plays...he's tried to hand that off but may need to get involved more.
My #6...GET GREG PENN off the field...let him go where 18 on the side line and hype people up...but Whit is by far the better LB and Wes is right there. How many shitty blown zone coverages did Penn have last night...on top of being out of place on run plays. And for God's sake...rush HP7 every down...we should be sending 4 or 5 every play.

Same thing keeps happening under Kelly. FSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Arkansas. Games get tight in the second half, we become vanilla and predictable on offense. Remember the last 3 drives at Ole Miss last year? Same thing happened 4th quarter last night. Second half of FSU? Same shite last night.
