37 years old. Coaching experience started at South Florida in 2010 as QC and GA. Next stop at LA Tech from 2013-2021. Only OC/Co-OC the last 3 years there.

Unqualified to be calling plays at a P4 program, let alone LSU.

Play calling from last night was utterly atrocious and was the sole reason LSU lost the game. (Even with bonehead Brian Kelly taking the ball first and passing on points first drive.)

Great scripted plays out of the gate with easy throws for Nuss to get into a groove. Pretty much fell apart after that. Continuous runs up the middle - our weak point with redshirt Freshman Chester vs their “best” player Bear Alexander. It was very evident we couldn’t run up the middle. So what do we do every short yardage situation? Run up the middle.

Where were the jet sweeps? Zavion or Aaron Anderson around the edge would have gashed them.

Where was the QB pull? Nuss isn’t slow like Mett. Their defensive end was crashing hard on the back every time.

Lacy had 7 catches for 94 yards at the half. ZERO in the second. Someone said he was double teamed. Ok- someone else was open then. Find him.

Where was the downfield passing attack or let alone passes across the middle? No deep crosses, no digs, no seam routes. The only pass I remember across the middle was the 14 yard pass to Pimpton late in the game and the tipped pass to Mason that he dropped. Also the deep cross to Anderson last drive. The only deep pass attempted was the touchdown to Lacy.

The play calling was stagnant and boring. It was literally a game plan for a true freshman QB playing in his first game to not make a mistake.

Run, run, 5 yard pass. Tackle - punt. Missed tackle - redo sequence.

BK said to judge him year 3. He doesn’t get a pass anymore. The media needs to hammer him in the coming days on why LSU played scared to lose on offense. This loss really was unacceptable, and I’m beyond sick of starting the season 0-1.

TLDR- OFFENSIVE GAMEPLAN SUCKED

I’m not sure if it was Sloan or Kelly who made him go so conservative in the second half with the play calling. If it was Kelly, he needs to take his hand off of the offense and let Nuss throw the damn ball

Dude these are the exact same complaints we had about denbrock in 2022. It’s clearly Kelly and the offense he wants to run with a qb he doesn’t fully trust. Limit over the middle and deep throws that will lead to TOs.

Just curious for those downvoting, were you happy with the playcalling?

I would say it is both of their faults. You know ‘alignment’ and all.

LSU EASILY wins that game with Denbrock calling plays last night. Or probably any other P4 OC.

Really, our offensive stats are virtually identical to USC's. We just couldn't execute our run block assignments and that's the difference in the game.

Based on what exactly? The 20 points Denbrock put up against fsu in both openers? Maybe the 15 points we put up against Tennessee in 2022? Or the 20 points we put up against AM in 2022?

Which again had all the same complaints you laid out against Sloan.

The last 3 seasons our offense in the opening game slows down so this clearly looks like BK mucked up the rhythm Sloan had. Too many BK fingerprints after a change of OC and same type of second half abortion.

Everything was grand until….
They decided to go ultra conservative and tried to impose our will through the run game. Passing game good enough especially considering we took limited shots down the field. Personally hate when coordinators go in the bunk and abandon what’s worked

Yes. We will see as the season goes on if it was BK tampering or Sloan. It doesn’t change the fact that Sloan is not qualified for this job.

2022 Jayden was also notorious for his checkdowns when they had open recievers downfield. Big difference is that Jayden could always pick up yards with his feet. Nuss is going to have to start scrambling & pulling that ball on the zone read.

We will know more after the All-22 comes out. Jayden wouldn’t pull the trigger his first year here. I remember the Tennessee game, he had guys running wild all game and just wouldn’t throw it.

I doubt that’s the case for Nuss based on his previous playing time here.

Thr O line was suspect, and with that being said. Sweeps and designed off tackle runs would have helped the run game. The second half adjustments were horrible and that falls on BK.

I get the idea Kelly is micromanager and he promoted Sloan because he can control him.

The Oline was near perfect in pass protection.

Nuss did far worse than y'all think and the tape will show that.
