Is it me, or does it seem fairly obvious that Sid Edwards is a Sharon Weston Broome plant, similar to Steve Carter in 2020?

Edwards would be more likely to beat SWB in a primary than if he were against James I think.

There are no good candidates in this race, but anyone that votes for Broome is straight up fricking retarded.

They should split the Mayor of BR and EBR President jobs. No way they can look out for whole of EBR and also cater to the wants of BR.

This is the Catch-22. Sid could finish 2nd, but he has no chance in general.
Ted, on the other hand, will draw the "Business Report" crowd AND the blacks who dislike SWB but will never vote for a white (R)

As long as it keeps Ted out of the mayor's seat that's fine with me. But Sid was talked into doing this by Woody Jenkins. Woody Jenkins is no fan of Broome.

Not entirely true. Seems like that on the surface intentionally. From my understanding, they have a very close relationship… Especially financially.

Ted James isn’t my preferred answer but he is a realistic one.
At the least, I don’t think he is as fricking stupid as SWB, who completely screwed the pooch for the parish in a number of ways.

How so? Woody Jenkins will try to inject the most fundamental conservative beliefs into the local dog catcher election. I will have to see proof of this before I believe it. Now does he believe SWB is better than Ted? I could believe that.

Ted is extremely intelligent. From what I know about SWB he is way more intelligent than her. And that is not meant as an insult on SWB's intelligence as much as a compliment to Ted's. But Ted is a piece of shite.
Ted was race grifting back in law school circa 2005. He was grifting before it was a thing.

A smart race grifter is better than an incompetent one who can’t handle basic functions of government.
There are probably no “good” choices but Ted is unlikely to be so incompetent that he loses the parish millions or more by not meeting federal deadlines.
I am not thrilled with him by any means but I am also realistic enough to know that the voting patterns of EBR means him or SWB.
I’d have preferred Tara Wicker four years ago but they got her tossed from the ballot by digging up tax issues.

I agree Ted seems way sharper. And I don’t care for his race baiting in the past.
However, at the end of the day, I think he’d do a better job than SWB and I don’t want to see anyone help her get another term. While I’m not sure Sharon’s BS is ignorance or nefarious, I don’t want to see her continue to be in a position to help racists like Collis Temple Jr’s of the world (he’s pushing for SWB big time).
And IMO, Sid Edwards in the race helps her. Intentionally or otherwise, I’m not sure. But it certainly feels like it’s calculated.

Hard to disagree with any of that. I see it working like this. It's either SWB or TJ. If it's SWB we get 4 more years of incompetence that BRAC/Engquist/BR Report etc gave us because they thought they could control her. Then we get Lamont Cole.
If it's TJ we get 12 years of whatever he is going to give us. As you suggest, could it be much worse? I'm told Myron Daniel is the police chief as soon as possible if that's the case.
