How’s everyone feeling heading into week 1?

Just curious on how everyone is feeling about this team this year heading into week 1? Have some big shoes to fill on offense. I have to imagine we see an improvement on defense because I’m not really sure how it could get any worse. I honestly have no real expectations this year. I’m taking a wait and see approach. But I hope we stomp Lincoln Riley’s arse.

For week 1 atleast: Hoping to see the d line get penetration, and for us to pound the rock on the other side.
Overall: a playoff appearance would be nice.

Nuss needs to manage the game; not win a heisman like many on here think
And #front4

Learned my lesson about being optimistic the past several years going in. I’ll be skeptical until we open the season like we used to regularly pre-Covid. I won’t be placing any bets this year so that should help the Tigers at least.

Wish LSU played a week 0 game.

confident. i think the defense will be improved (it can't get worse) and that they will know their assignments and fly around a lot more than last year. the offense will be fine, id like to see lsu o line pound usc into submission running the ball.

One thing about Les, up until the end, he was going to curbstomp OOC opponents.

I think FSU regrets theirs.

Feeling pretty solid, but nervous before Week 1. If LSU can go out and beat USC week 1, sky is the limit. All we need to do is finish the season at 10-2, and we’d be positioned into the playoffs. Floor 9-3 ceiling 11-1, and if we beat Ole Miss to start 6-0, you could be talking about an 11-1 regular season.
I really think LSU’s defensive staff last year was that putrid, and I think LSU has a top 30-40 unit on defense this season. The new Defensive staff alone will help our talent on defense tremendously. Blake Baker is a very aggressive DC. While at LA Tech his LB’s were flying all over the field, physical CB’s not afraid to get into your face. Let’s em play loose. One of the best defensive line coaches in the country who has turned a lot of 3*’s into NFL picks in the last few years at Texas is now with us. Our best or second best DB coach of all time with countless NFL stars is back. Feel good about defense, even with how bad it was last season.
Offensive line is the best in the country. Play to your strengths, and run the football by committee with your talented backfield. Let Nuss do his thing, not commit too many mistakes, and use his arm downfield when you need to. WR room doesn’t have tons of experience, but Lacy and Daniels are both NFL guys. Lots of young talent here too that has potential.
5-2 through these 7 gets ya to 10-2 I think:
USC
@ South Carolina
Ole Miss
@ A&M
Bama
@ Florida
OU

I'm always cautiously optimistic at my lowest and undefeated national champion at my highest. Probably closer to the floor this season but still

Offensive line is the best in the country?
I’ve heard this said a few times. I don’t disagree that Campbell, Jones and Dellinger are solid to understate it, but don’t forget that we have a new center in town. I’ve heard from some practice reports that he’s struggled a bit. We all know what a weak link in the line can get us, at center no less.
I hope he’ll be a pleasant surprise, but at this time, like a fair amount of our defense, he’s right now a big unknown

I think probably so. LT is projected as a top 1-5 pick. RT is projected as a 1st Round Top 20-30 pick. Both LG and RG have been with the program for years and playing CFB for years. A lot of experience from them and a lot of time in the weight room. Both will be NFL draft picks after this season. Center like you said is a question mark, but it’s the only question mark, and I do believe 2 1st RD tackles, and 4 NFL lineman with years of experience offsets this. Besides this Chester is very talented, and I like Paul Mubenga. Only other offensive lines I think you could argue against LSU would be Oregon or Texas.

I agree with you. I just wouldn’t be surprised if we had a few white-knuckle moments at the center position in the first game. But otherwise it’s a group that we should have the fewest questions about

Excited and a little nervous.

As good as the offensive line is at guard and tackle, there is still a question mark at center at this point and going up against Bear Alexander is a big challenge for any center in the country.
A big variable for me is how we tackle in space.

As usual I’m feeling very optimistic and confident that we will play well and pull out a victory. This is the first year CBK has mostly his recruits and has better coaching on the defensive side of the ball.
