Haener needs a good offensive line to succeed. Rattler gives you flexibility and the cannon don’t hurt. Rattler needs time and reps but he might be the next guy.

I am not ready to say he is the future but it certainly looks promising. Loomis needs to be fired for extending Carr. I would definitely play Rattler a lot this season and may even just bench Carr at some point and roll with Rattler.

When are referring to exactly? Sure he's had some spats over money. You have to go back to the 5yr/100M contract in 2012 to be at 20M/yr. Every contract since then had been 25M+.

In 2012 the salary cap was 120.6M. That means Drew was 16.5% of the cap. Carr's contract is 14.6% of the cap and league average in dollar value.

Let's not pretend we tried to cheap out on Drew. Loomis will not gamble and overpay, but more than willing to offer average competitive compensation.

Haener has been better than I thought because I didn’t think he’d amount to much other than practice squad player for 2-3 years, but he does look to be a serviceable backup on the right team & offense. He is capable of making reads & is athletic in the pocket, but to my eye Rattler is QB2. Rattler is far from a finished product too though, but he’s already shown ability to move ball down field & make some really good throws

Haener improved from last year and has looked fine. He needs 2-3 years to be ready imo, possibly one day being a starter. I think Rattler has looked better so far but at least needs a full year. Likelihood we are having the same 2 battle again next season for number 2
