We’ve been going to beave because the Santa greens are rough

Go to beaver or Greystone or city park. The greens at city park are actually not bad right now

BC greens are terrible too. We are going to Copper and Fennwood this weekend.

Copper and fennwood were both punched at the same time as Santa Maria.

I’m not referencing their condition from punching, BC has dirt edges on just about every green and some random bad spots on a few greens.

BC greens aint bad. Played out there yesterday. Had some bumps from people who refuse to repair ball marks.

SM was doing a "day of repair" yesterday, OP... may want to give them some time. The Island is normally in great shape this time a year. I beleive they punched 2 weeks ago.

Then you and I have different ideas of good greens. The stretch of 13-15 were terrible.

I don't think they are punching until this coming Monday.

Kinda hate to put this out there because the place is never busy and I'd like to keep it that way but they will need business to stay open.

Belle Terre Country Club in Laplace is looking really really good right now. The greens were damn near perfect. Yea I know the ponds are kinda crappy and not kept up. The fairways looked great and I just can't say enough about the greens. Also its was dead on Sunday. I passed a 3 some on hole three and a 3 some on hole 10....... and that's it, thats the only people I saw on the course.

It's worth checking out. Good rate too on GolfNow

Played SM Friday 8/16. The greens are the worst I've ever seen them. I'm glad they finally punched, but it's really bad right now. Place gets so much play it's just beat up.

Playing next week. Should I cancel and go to Beaver?
Also, tee time guy said “if you want to play before 10am you gotta get a tee time 2 weeks in advance.”

Does that sound right? Fair?

It sounds right but fair? Hell no. There’s a group of old farts that play out there almost everyday and take turns working the starter shed and as the “marshall.” They have someone reserving all those early tee times each week. Saddest part is, I don’t think half of those guys pay.

Earliest/prime tee times should be $80 out there and only for people PAYING for their round. The higher green fees will weed out the college kids and hackers. Volunteers can play for free after 12.

Volunteers should only get free golf when the course switches to twilight rates.

Would love to see an audit involving volunteer tee times and how much revenue is being lost

The weekend tee times are pre-booked before the general public can schedule. It's all the old farts that hang out there and are friend with the marshals. When the tee times go live at 12:00pm 13 days in advance, there are none available before 9am.

If you're bored one Saturday, just go out there and watch. half the groups are no shows and the other half are marshals and staff member friends.

This is unfortunate but it so true. I got lucky one time and got an early morning tee time out there but it was due to a cancelation. It is impossible to get one now. Sad to know this is the reason why.
