Why can't we schedule an easy win for game 1. Why does it even have to be a conversation, "we better not lose game 1"
Why can't we be like Tennessee, Bama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Oklahoma... any number of teams that don't lose game 1 of the season 4 years in a row.
They're all playing teams like Merced / Alabama A&M / Furman / etc but we have to be dumbasses

and it doesn’t get easier after this either since we have to travel to tFake Death Valley for next year’s opener
I like the big time openers, just feels way better if we can win them finally

Several thousand tickets on several sites.
Was trying to sell some extras but all the unused secondary market USC tickets are fricking up the pricing.
We shall see, could be a frick ton of locals and randos on vacation going to the game.
I'm anxious to see what the breakdown will be, but I feel like we will have a solid 65ish percent advantage.

I wish everyone would sack up and play all 12 games against FBS at a minimum., and really just Power 5 schools.

I prefer starting with a quality opponent but am not a fan of neutral site games.

Not scared of good competition. I’m sick of it happening in game 1 and starting the season off on a bad note. Why is it even a conversation “we better not go 0-1.” That game should be a given. BK has failed to do it twice. With a warmup game in 2022 we finish the season 10-2. Big difference. Not sure about last year but didn’t help that FSU had a warmup game and we didn’t.
We’re LSU and did this shite 4 years in a row.

I completely agree. I wish the top 40 schools would just break away and only play against teams in that group of 40. You'd have a barn burner almost every week.

Tigers are snakebit for first games these days. They could schedule Rice, or S. Alabama or even Nicholls and lose the way they've played the last four years in the first games.
As for those who lament playing strong opponents the first game, look at Bama back in the last decade. They always started out with a high-profile opponent in "kickoff classics" and beat them soundly! Championship programs win these sorts of games-- pretenders lose them.
