How can a true artist just add new words to old classic songs and think they have talent… I don’t get it. While there are true country singers who use original material to make a great music …on the other hand if an old song had been revamped to a great music , I consider that talent..
On the top 10 country music songs the only decent one is #1 and that’s pure reggae genre. Wife watch’s top ten country on Sundays , I just laugh
At slutty cowgirls on videos …. Great music gone forever

What’s an example of this revamp you’re talking about?

They're your problem, hoss.
The good shite doesn't chart all that often. You've got to find it.

I caught an episode of AGT from a year or 2 back. Drake Milligan and his band. Great voice. Started following him some and really like him. Look him up..

Even the old guys covered songs.

I'm sure everyone is vaguely aware, but this fella has an astounding amount of great songs, too.

Yeah, back in the 50s through the early 70s, most record labels still worked on the model of "finding" talent and tended to let them do their thing recording.
Since then, like about everything else in our lives, profits are maximized by volume and assembly line repetition.
A great country artist with a unique style in 1965 had a pretty decent chance of having a record on a big label with the kind of production they wanted and the level of promotion that gets them on the radio, TV etc. .
In 2024, the chance of that happening is almost zero. The good artists with their own vision are on smaller labels that can't pay the fee it takes to make it to the Top 40.

Ok boomer. Sorry we’d rather listen to something fun rather than listen to a baw crying about his dog leaving him and his wife getting run over.

There is plenty of good country music out there, you just won't hear it on your radio or see it on your wife's TV.

I told folks over a year ago they were about to blow up. Now the Mobile baws are making it big. Great live performers that you can tell put in the work.
