Has the ban on baiting changed your thoughts on hunting over feed? Increased sightings? Fewer? Have you changed your strategy?
Do you believe they will allow those areas to bait again?

I miss feeding. I enjoyed having another excuse to go out there and make my rounds.
I don’t necessarily think the hunting has gotten worse without it though. The same number and size of bucks killed in a season has pretty much stayed the same since the ban. We do see fewer deer per hunt though. I’ll have multiple hunts a year without seeing anything when that very seldom happened with corn out. But between the 3 of us we could fill all of our tags in a season if we wanted to but we don’t.
We don’t see near about the hogs we used to see. Which is good I guess but I kinda miss shooting those stinking bastards if I’m being honest.

I doubt we’ll ever be able to bait again. It’s better for hunting overall not to have baiting.

I don't think they fully banned it, but maybe I'm wrong. Regardless, I think the deer actually like the camouflage corn better than the yeller.

It’s already banned for some of us and that’s the topic of the thread.

We doubled down on summer and food plots. Keeps deer around and better overall source of nutrition
Biggest challenge is a good survey is harder to do without a feed pile

Yea, the worst part about the no corn pile deal is you don't get them on camera nearly as well.

In 30 years folks will look at corn piles like they look at running dogs today....
(And fwiw, I killed my first deer hunting with dogs...)

If they ban corn completely it will not hurt my feelings.

If they banned corn completely it would just save me some money. Then the food plot becomes the bait, then the dropping white oak. People will always look for a way to explain why you killed a deer and they didn’t.

They will have fond memories of the excitement and camaraderie of corn piling and long for its return?

If we could get Rinnella running walker dogs we might turn this thing around.

Reckon corn ban will reduce the hog pop?

Or increase the footprint in the search of easy feed while decreasing concentration. I’d like to see the numbers and know for sure

I think if you look at places with hog problems, they’re same places that allow baiting.
Separate point is banning baiting would make hunting public land adjoining private land that baits alot more enjoyable.

Tensas has been great with bait ban No more traffic in woods to put feed out. Save money trying to make a bigger bait pile than the neighbors pile
Hope ban forever. Food plots are like bait, but nature has to help with rain
And at least the deer don’t have there head in pile of corn when they’re shot .. some folks love bait piles . I can do with out

The number of deer we killed has been similar to the time prior to the ban. It’s made my job much easier not having to fool with filling feeders.

We hunt just north of the ban line in Madison Parish. I wish they would ban feeding for the whole state. It would save me a lot of money and it would hurt all the farmers hands that hunt field edges around us.

Incorrect. Hog problems look worse without feed because they root every open piece of ground we got and move around like a 30 foot field cultivator rooting.
Now, we kill way more in daylight because they are always moving. That's a good side to it.
