Good exposure for the university but I’m wondering how the fans feel about this when NIL is such a polarizing topic.

What NIL was supposed to be is fine, but what NIL has become (and the open transfer portal so that every player can be a free agent and for sale every year, with boosters/collectives buying players) is destroying college sports.

NIL as is was intended is great. LSU was capitalizing on thar, what it has become and what it is, IMO, is unsustainable. The free agency aspect of the transfer portal in conjunction with NIL is going to ruin college sports, starting with the biggest ones and trickling down, but that is a microcosm of everything in the world today. Greed and money is the root cause of everything going on around us in any given day.

Only dumb old people think athletes shouldn’t monetize off their value

Fans may not care about this, but recruits do. This is great for LSU's brand and of course, Executive Producer, Shaquille O'Neal is always looking out for LSU.

Tbh, LSU is still a great case study on it working as intended. Most of the athletes in this doc didn’t come here because we were the highest bidder and we continue to sign players without being the highest bidder.
BUT
They come here and their brand grows as much or more as anywhere else, and they leave richer and more accomplished than anywhere else. A true mutually beneficial relationship, as NIL is meant to be. That’s what LSU is and continues to sell.

Cool. Then don't watch it. Do you think anybody here gives a damn what you do and don't care about?

It’s only a polarizing topic because some still think players don’t deserve any additional money because they’re getting a free scholarship.
The spirit of NIL is great for those who capitalize on what it was supposed to be. I’d be interested to see how they discuss collectives. LSU isn’t going to let them release anything in a negative light.
It’s great for the university because it’s a large media company with a wide cast net.

Yeah, absolutely nothing about this is bad for LSU. The only negative thing I'll say about it is that it should have come out in July or August, when I don't have crap else to watch.

I love documentaries. Sports documentaries are even better. Sports documentaries about LSU are the cherry on top.

And, dumb enough to over pay them.

probably to compare and contrast the money making potential of every level of athlete.

I hope the ncaa doesn't nail us for NIL infractions

How do you pronounce this?
Is it FLU JAY?
Flaw JAY?
Something else?
This isn’t a ‘hate on WBB’ post. I don’t watch their games and have never heard someone say her name so I have no clue how to pronounce it
