The original Red Dead Redemption appears to be coming to PC for the first time, more than 14 years after its original release.

That information comes from the PlayStation Store, where, at the time of writing, the game's description reads that players can "experience the epic western adventures that defined generation - now on PC for the first time ever." That description, which appeared overnight, is currently inaccurate, as Red Dead Redemption isn't available on PC.

The original game launched on PS3 and Xbox 360 back in May 2010, and it was followed up by a PS4 and Nintendo Switch "conversion" last year. That version wasn't really the PS5 remake that fans had been hoping for, but if there's now a PC version on the way, Rockstar could indirectly be giving the original Red Dead a boost. If this is just the PS4/Switch version, that's unlikely, but if a dedicated PC port is on the way, expectations are likely to be pretty high.

I actually preferred RDR1 to 2, and would be extreeemmmly tempted to buy this, but I am sure R* is gonna want $60 for a 14yo game. Can't do that on principle.

I might, just to provide proof of concept so they might bring Bloodborne

Certain studios have crossed a line for me. I will never spend another penny on R* or Ubisoft no matter what they release as they have not just been unable to “stay in their lane” but have given up on the pavement altogether and are lost in the woods.

Anything they produce revenue on, that revenue will be used against the providers of said revenue.

It's hyperbole, but not by much.

I agree with you on what is likely to come out.

But just imagine a real company who wanted to offer "value" - a DLC that allows you to bridge from RDR2 seamlessly into a remastered RDR with a pack of bridge missions that gives you an accelerated start for the RDR story mode.

THAT might be worth $60 as a package with the new, remastered RDR, wouldn't it?
