He is a really nice guy and seems to be a good human.

He is going to get paid 10s of millions of dollars to be very average to below average at QB, so obviously, I don't feel that bad for him.

But...

He is going to get annihilated this year. He is not a very mobile guy, has gone through a lot of injuries, but this OL is going to be probably league worst. He is going to get waves of DL just T'ing off on him and he won't make it the year. Its going to be very, very bad.

Its going to be like what his brother went through in Houston. Possibly worse since he is older than his brother was.

He was set up to fail.

By Loomis.

But don’t cry any tears for him- he’s well paid and will have a rich relaxing retirement on Gayle’s $$$

If we can't be a good running team then yes, he may get blown up one too many times.

need to be a much better screen and swing pass team. taysom needs to be utilized in ways to keep a defense honest.

Wonder if he will wear the pillow on his head like some of the other players?

So don't just bring him in to get a direct snap and run between the guards?

Taysom should line up as the RB next to Carr multiple snaps a game. At least 1-2 of those snaps should be direct snaps to him

Carr was never going to succeed because he’s just not very good. If he needs an all star O-line to have any success then why is he getting $40 million per year? (Because his agent is a wizard) Carr is the most veteran quarterback in the nfl without a playoff win. At what point do you start looking at the common denominator?

Part of me does feel bad. You can see the look on his face during interviews. He’s feeling the pressure. Unfortunately there’s nothing he can do because he’s not good and he’s never been good. It’s incredibly impressive that someone of his caliber has stayed employed as a starter for over a decade.

He’s not nearly as bad as you make out. I think his statistics were top 7-8 the 2nd half of the year after the line was stabilized with Peat starting.

I woukd have never given him 40 a year, but I’m more in the camp of only paying top tier qbs big money, and if you don’t have that you might as well run out there with whatever you can get off the scrap heap and build up other areas of the team.

Carr is average but can be good with good oline play. It is what it is.

Carr plays like a back up qb that should be getting 10 million per year max. With that extra $$$ you can make your O-line better.

To be fair, his cap hit in 2023 was only $7.2M and the cap his for 2024 is $12.7M; so in line with your back-up figures.

And don't give me his 2025-2027 figures bullshite, because we all know future cap money does not exist in the world of Loomis

Lol some of y’all are not worth arguing with. Carr is close to last in production per game. His overall season production is usually somewhere in the middle of the pack. That’s because there’s at least 3-4 journeymen back ups starting (Heinicke/minshew), another handful that have injuries and miss half a dozen games (burrow/cousins) and then there’s another few rookies that are in dumpster fire organizations like Bryce young. And then y’all sit back and say how average Carr is and how he’s actually “paid in line with his production”. Carr is made out of concrete and he’s capable of playing through injuries. This allows him gather 17 weeks worth of statistics. This is about the only compliment I can give him. He’s not worth the money and no offensive line is going to make him a playoff winning quarterback.

Lol future money is still money. If I can push Carr’s contract into the future, I can do the same for an OL

Bright side is I think we’ll find out fairly soon whether Rattler is the real deal or not.

He chose to come back to a Dennis Allen led team.

Behind this O-line? They'll ruin Rattler just like the Texans ruined Carr's older brother.

I also agree that Derek will get annihilated this year. Hoping he makes it through at least half the season.
