“Best” meaning highest dividend yield (cost basis or current?), dividend consistency/growth, dividend + price appreciation or…?

Off the top of my head, I could put at least one or two in each of those categories. From my cost basis and dividend + appreciation, it would easily be AAPL. Dividend yield would probably be MO. Consistency would likely be ORI. But again, off the top of my head… I haven’t really looked that hard.

Not technically a dividend but ET, PAA, and EPD all pay around 7% (much more when you consider where I bought them).

Next level would be BP, LAMR, and F all paying 4-6% and growing.

I bought into ARCC and Trin in January, ARCC the larger position. Before I bought i was impressed with the stock stability and that of the dividend. Am I missing something on BDC's?

It’s funny you mentioned Sasol. I just started buying this. My main concern is that it’s a South African company and that whole country is corrupt and going to shite. Any insight into why you think the government won’t just drain Sasol of money?

Nothing wrong per se but they are basically finance companies. They are essentially extending credit at a high interest rate to companies which usually means the companies are having trouble. It’s a good model until it isn’t. I’d worry about what happens in a recession which seems likely.

MO is hit and miss. I bought it when it “dropped” to 46 in ‘21, and then continued up to $52. Even with the DRIP I was effectively underwater for 2+ years. Given its run over the past six months, I’d be cautious jumping into it right now.

Have rolled the dice a little on UNIT (14.56%).

Not stocks, but ETFs: SVOL (16.44%) and SPYI (12.05%).
