I have sat next to student section for years .. Shoulder to shoulder.. ( at the wall)…..
Something changed after the Covid year off.. many of the old comments are valid.. half time and empties..still good partying.. but sometimes a little more anger and less drunken fun..but to be honest we have had some off years between coaches.. players… and other nonsense..
But when it is a big game and we are solid they pull their weight..
I guess my suggestions.. play good ball.. play competitive teams.. play at night..
I will get a little cranky and say the students of today are not the same as years past.. they are pretty self aware and more entitled.. I enjoyed the older version of them more..

I will say, they were outstanding in 2019. It was youngest kid's senior year at LSU and some buddies and I would go crash her seats in the student section. We sat (stood) there for UF, Auburn, and A&M. The first quarter for A&M was as intense as ever. Same for 4th quarter for both UF and Auburn.
And I agree, it has not been the same since with the exception of Bama in 2022, I will be highly disappointed if it isn't off the chain for UCLA, especially if we beat USC in Vegas.

Need to relax the “check for contraband booze” policy. The reason most of them leave at halftime is because they’re sobering up from their pre-game drinking, and they’re leaving to resume the party.

Bigger student section back then with no tickets and only student ID's needed. Late 60's and early 70's were the end of the true LSU Death Valley. Free wheeling game experience and not how much money can we make.

Look at the other thread from 1982 when I was in the student section.
Now they would look at a bag of oranges and tell you that you can’t bring food into the stadium.
