I remember watching this game and laughing with glee thanking the Lord when that Florida defender threw the shoe to let us win the game. But I hadn't thought much of it since... Come to watch this video explaining how it basically caused a chain of events that killed Florida's program (losing SEC champ to Bama cuz no playoff berth on the line, firing Mullen, hiring Napier, eternally living in mediocrity) and I buy it. That shoe throw, followed by an LSU win, has buried Florida deep in their own self rot.

and yay for fried gator tiger bait!

Always will remember where I was when this happened, saying to myself what the heck just happened.

And the kick in the fog will always be super cool.

Sorry, but this simply isn’t true. This is a textbook example of revisionist history.

They fought like hell and came really close to beating
Bama. That was an unbelievable Alabama team, and Florida came closer to beating them than anyone else the entire season. There’s no doubting that Florida wanted it badly that night.

During our family's annual Christmas Eve Party, we always play a game of some kind.

2020, the family Christmas Game was ...
Throw the Shoe.

Second Flaida program broken by the Tigers this millennium.

The U has never been right since that 40-3 Peach Bowl beat down in 2005, including the post-game arse whipppin.

Glorious.

LOL, am trying to forget about Free Shoes U.

At least I got to see the 1982 beating the Tigers gave them in the Orange Game.

That 2021 game was worse them IMO. Giving up 321 yards on the ground in the SEC is just downright embarrassing. TDP took their fricking souls and left them buried in the turf at Tiger Stadium that fall afternoon.

Florida has been complete arse since then. They had a playoff berth on the line that night when we beat them in the shoe fog game and they’ve had a losing record ever since. Given their schedule the next couple years they’re looking at 5 straight losing seasons since then and don’t even remember when they last beat LSU. 2017?

Gators ain’t shite anymore.

I would love to find the tiniest bit of compassion for the Gators, but October 9, 1993, "Never forget."
