Little League baseball is on tv this time of year and it got me thinking about those kids from the River Ridge team that won the LLWS a few years ago.

They should be juniors or seniors in high school by now and I was curious if any of them have any measure of prospect status and/or are on LSU’s radar.

Oddly one of the lowest rated recruits LSU signed.

Who was the other stud player that year? Roussel?

The fun part about baseball, I’d say more so than other sports, is you never know how these kids will progress. The best 10 year old usually isn’t the best 14 year old. The best 14 year old usually isn’t the best 18 year old and so on.

Good kid but not D1.

Perfect game doesn't even have him ranked.

IIRC the travel ball kids would wipe the floor with the LLWS series kids. I hear the travel teams have way better talent.

Many of these kids play on travel ball teams. Think the rule is they’ve got to play 50% of league games to make LL All Star Team.

All of these little league kids play travel ball too, at least in the south they do. But yes, the upper tier travel teams would beat any of them.

Travel ball and high school parents need to read this a few times, this is truth.

There are exceptions of course, I can think of a few, but this is a real thing more often than it's not.

These people are largely OOC. However, there are exceptions. My cousin's son is a talented player, so they let him play both.

However, they make it clear that:

1. Real life comes before baseball. Travel ball is a privilege
2 . You will play local youth ball and/or school ball. Travel is for the rest if the year

I think it works well, as he sees travel ball as reward. They keep theirkid from becoming a little entitled shite

the most talented team that probably represented Louisiana the last 25 years from a college prospect standpoint is Lake Charles in like 2008 that had Trey Quinn, The Jordan Twins, Leger from ULL, and anther one that played at ULL.

These are travel teams. NOLA little league is from all over NOLA and up river parishes. Drawing for large population of people.

I remember that group. Had Kennon Fontenot too. They were rock solid from youth, high school, many into college at strong D1 programs, Quinn to the NFL and Leger was a high draft pick before injury. Fun to watch.

AP started a little league team to compete and I thought Baton Rouge was getting in on the Little League game thru Traction as well but I guess no one wanted to do it

Brother Martin has the most players from that team and like someone mentioned those players outside of Darrah probably won't sign with major programs, probably looking at juco or smaller schools if they move on to college ball, most of them should be seniors this coming year as is Louque

John Curtis had one player from the team as well but my guess is he devoted more of his time to football
