There are stories out there from when he ran for office in Minnesota that he has lied about his service. Not sure of the details.

The details are he was promoted, served in that position for a time, but didn’t finish the requirements for that position, so when he retired he had to under his previous rank.

Another way of putting it is that he dropped out of the SGM Academy when he found out he was going to deploy to Iraq. His permanent promotion to SGM was contingent upon completion of the Academy. Sort of like being promoted to E5 and having to complete BNCOC to keep those stripes.

This doesn’t happen. What happens is many billets are filled by lower ranks. They don’t get promoted or have requirements to meet to satisfy. That isn’t how promotion works.

Tell the whole story you dumbass. That piece of shite took paychecks and promotions in peacetime. Took a “conditional Command SgtMaj billet”. When his FA unit got deployment orders he quit. He is a cowardly piece of shite that was stripped of his conditional title and retired as a Master Sergeant.

Not how it’s done in the Army. Read the letter submitted by the guy that replaced him and deployed with the unit.
