Oneal's in Ruston has 50# bags for $7.25. O'neal's

Gonna load up during the tax-free weekend in September. We have 2 600# feeders that can go all season without refilling plus a few smaller ones.

What prices are y'all seeing in your areas?

Just know that about 10% of John Deere’s workforce is unemployed because of these prices.

And there will be struggling farmers because of high interest rates and the subsequent increase in equipment and input prices.

But hey, you get to bait deer for cheap!

Lol, they’re always moving.

We do all our shooting during still hunting season then just run dogs for fun. My son and I didn’t kill a single deer in front of the hounds last year. It’s all a matter of being in the right place at the right time.

Using your logic, they must have retired off what they made in the last three years. A 40% increase in the price wasn’t sustainable and if they couldn’t see that, then they should find a new line of work. I work in the oilfield so you can spare me on that sob story.

Does that 10% include the ones that lost a job because the company moved some operations to Mexico? Or is it because the company offended their customer base with woke policies?

At 4 seconds twice a day, I can get real close to 6 months on my 2 600 All Season Feeders.

Good Lord. We set the timers at 5 or 6 seconds in the morning and afternoon. And put PVC on the legs to keep the coons off. Even if you throw 6 pounds a day, that’s 100 days. We have lots of browse, so we’re not attempting to actually feed the deer. Just attract them.

My job is heavily dependent on the O&G industry as well. I don’t see the John Deere guys worried about what’s on my W2.

50# United Ag High Caliber corn from El Campo. I've seen it get to $7.25. We've had good luck with them - no clumps or mold like you may get somewhere else.

I dunno about that whole rant there but it is a bit surprising to see the price of corn at ~$7 . Seem like I was paying that a decade ago. And obviously inflation had rocketed since then.
