Lebron has two golds since being legally able to drink

But sure, let’s be so insecure about MJ we try and make a 19 year old Lebron being on team USA a negative thing

Seems they play Brazil on Tuesday. I remember when The OG dream team beat everyone by 80pts. I think I would take a 61 Year old Jordan over Bronze LeBron.

you mean when other countries, outside of the US, didn't focus on competitive basketball as much, therefore they all sucked WAYYYY more than now, now that basketball has become a globally played game, vs. back then?

yeah, i remember that too, but to think we could sustain that dominance, when the rest of the world got introduced to great basketball and then went on to invest and develop their own teams and programs, is utterly fricking retarded, but given what you've posted in this thread so far, par for the course....

I am not insecure, just stating he is more known for Bronze than anything else. Jordan never got reduced to winning Bronze like LBJ.

When Jordan won, the USSR and Yugoslavia had both just broken up eliminating the only real threats to the team.

Basketball as a whole wasn't nearly as big as it is now. I mean who was the best foreign basketball player in the NBA in 1992?

Petrovic? Mutombo? Divac? (I would argue Hakeem but he played for Team USA)

Now the top 10 players in the NBA are dominated by foreign-born players: Luka, Giannis, Jokic, SGA and every team seems to have at least one good foreign player.

MJ at 19 would never have been good enough for a professional Olympic team either

You replace the 2004 team with a 19 year old MJ instead of a 19 year old LeBron and the team is even worse

Oscar Schmidt and Sabonis. You probably could've made a good 8 man rotation if you combined the best from the rest of the world.

Before Coaches like Popovich and Kerr took their respective feet of the gas to virtue signal to some smaller countries.

Kerr got way too cute instead of putting subpar teams away.

neither of those guys were in the NBA in the early 90s...

but yeah, young Sabonis was definitely one of the better players in the world

I am lost as to whether many of these Olympic posts are stupid people or just examples of bad trolling.
