Look at it as a buying opportunity.
Ill stick to what I always say, everyone needs to get out of debt and live more frugally.

It's 6.3%. The Dow is 2.8% down. Grow a pair.

Should not worry if you’re in your 40’s and maybe even early 50’s. I would be more concerned about this if I was less than 5 years from retirement or in my early to mid 60’s.

My 401k is unburdened by what has been.

I’m not worried today. This is a liquidity event due to the yen spiking. If we weren’t near ATHs, there would probably be more buyers to pick up the assets sold to cover yen shorts.
The only thing it tells me is that there isn’t a ton of cash on the sidelines waiting to gobble up deals. People are waiting for lower or they’re cash poor. Someone with some data could probably find out which scenario is dominant and invest accordingly.

The NASDAQ has never been this low?

401k fricked? sounds like a "you" problem hahahha.
mine still has 12 more years to go. I am agressive AF. I'll just up my percentage and finish maxing it out now while the market is lower. It will all work out over the next 12 years.

Seen it several times. I wouldn’t worry although it’s still a pisser.

Think of it as reparations. If you own stocks you are privileged and you should reflect on that more often

If you are in long term don't panic, in fact buy.
If you plan on retiring tomorrow you might want to push it back a little bit. But who fricking knows really?
I remember in 2008 there were 2 or 3 guys who I worked with who had planned on retiring at the end of the year. Actually there was another guy who retired the summer of 08 and then came back to work in November and stayed another two years (half the reason was because within two weeks of being retired there was no way he could stay home with his wife all day, even if he woke up before she did, left the house about 30 mins after she woke up and was in an out the whole day.. In other words, he said being at work all day was better than being around his wife throughout the day...lol).. But yeah, there were a few people who delayed their retirement.
By the time everyone is thinking about what to do and attempting to put some money into whatever everyone is saying "_______ is where your money needs to be right now" is about the time its too late. Right now everyone is saying gold because it has gone up and projected to keep going on. Thats the trap. Don't buy when its hot, buy before its hot.

Not if you invested in gold.
