Inside Carolina Politics Board Shutting Down

IC is easily the most visited UNC sports website. It has had a largely liberal politics message board for many years. The owners of the site are finally shutting down that cesspool on Monday. The lib moderators were always a nuisance and a stain on the site as a whole. The libs have started a new website called www.zzlpolitics.com which should be a lot like Democratic Underground. Happy trolling if you decide to head over there.

The Board of Trustees tried to put Sam back up but the chancellor (who subsequently resigned) had his pedestal removed in the middle of the night.

UNC medical was somewhere involved with the COVID virus gain of function before it went to wuhan? I feel like I’ve seen that somewhere, don’t feel like looking it up right now.

The Inside The Auburn Tigers site shut down it’s political board — Toomer’s Corner — during the height of the COVID-1984/George Floyd insanity.
There are a dozen or so regs from that old Auburn board who now post here.
TC never had the traffic of this place but the majority of posters definitely were MAGA minded like the majority of PB baws: the PB has been a good refuge for those posters to vent.
We never should take this place for granted since Chicken allows this place to remain largely free-wheeling.

We all owe chicken a debt of gratitude for not moderating this board much. IC’s first mistake was having moderators at all. Their second mistake was having all liberal moderators. At the end of the day, IC’s owners were probably tired of liberal Poli mods running off their paying subscribers with bans. It was just too stupid.

I’ve noticed the same thing. Left wing boards like Reddit are heavily moderated but conservative boards like TD and AR-15 aren’t. Liberals can’t stand different opinions and have authoritarian tendencies unlike us.

Absolutely my experience too. I can’t say anything on Reddit. The only place is here and Twitter because of Elon.
